Tourism Resources in Pingtung Plain

Pingtung county has typical tropical scenery, especially the peninsula, and has always been a famous tourist area in the province. Established in September, 1982, "Kenting Nature Park" is the first large-scale nature park in the province with multiple functions of ecological protection and sightseeing. In addition, there are mountain scenic spots such as Sandimen and Wutai, seaside scenic spots such as Donggang and Seagull, mud volcano of Li Yu, and forest recreation area of Chaoliudao scenic spot known as "sea park", which have become the main industries that drive the county's economic development. At the southwest end of Pingtung Plain, there is a small town, Donggang Town, which is located at the mouth of Danshui River and Donggang River. There are many rivers and lakes in the territory, which is a typical water town world. Most of the residents here are engaged in agriculture and fisheries. They are called "Land of Fish and Rice", with an existing area of about 27 square kilometers and a population of about 44,000. They are the second largest town in Pingtung County. The geographical locations of Donggang Town, Pingtung City and Kaohsiung City are almost isosceles triangles, with a distance of about 20 kilometers. The transportation from Pingtung City or Kaohsiung City to Donggang Town is very convenient.
