Building structure

The dam is divided into three parts, from south to north: the main stone dam, the Taihuang dike and the concrete dam. The three parts are independent, complementary, mutually utilized and protected, forming a unique layout of the trinity. On the whole, it has both the principle of Dujiangyan and its own characteristics. The southernmost main stone dam is 443 meters long in the north-south direction, and it is divided into three sections. The northern section is called Linglong Dam, the middle section is called Luanshi Dam, and the southern section is called Gundam.

The rolling dam is the lowest among the three dams. Its function is to flood westward after the water level of Xiaowen River begins to rise and exceeds the safety limit, so as to prevent Xiaowen River from bursting. The Linglong dam in the north is .1m higher than the rolling dam, and the rocky dam in the middle is .2m higher than the Linglong dam. With the rise and fall of the water level, the three dams are flooded in stages. According to the water conservancy department's measurement, the amount of flooding of the three dams is equal to the flood flow of Dawen River and Xiaowen River.
