Tourism Strategy+Accommodation Strategy in Transcaucasia

Transcaucasia is not actually a country. It refers to the region where Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan are located. So this time it's about the strategies of the regions where these three countries are located, so friends, are you ready?

Route and transportation Beijing flies directly to Baku by Azerbaijan Airlines. You don't need to show your return ticket when you check in. The plane meal is ok. Baku airport is very atmospheric and foreign.

Stay in Baku, Azerbaijan for three nights, stay in Lankalan for one night, then take a bus to Astala and cross the border to Iran by land. It takes two hours to go through the customs because there are too many people. Perhaps there are too few China people crossing the border here, so the police kept a straight face and asked many questions. For details, please refer to the detailed description in Travel Notes of Iran.

Through the Iranian port of Norduz to Armenia. I met repeatedly when I left the country and was finally released. Armenia will soon enter the customs. Take a taxi directly to Tatev at the border for one night, then stay in Goris for one night, stay in Naka, China, and Stepanakert for two nights, and finally stay in Yerevan, Armenia for three nights. You need a passport to board the plane at the border of Naka, and then go to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the capital to apply for a visa, which is equivalent to landing visa. The visa officer will ask you whether the visa should be affixed to your passport. If you post it, you can't enter Azerbaijan in the future.

Take a chartered bus from Yerevan to Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia, and stay for five nights. One night in Signaghi and one night in Kazbek. Finally, fly from Tbilisi to Istanbul, Turkey.

Due to the hostile relationship between Armenia and Azerbaijan, if you only go to these three countries, the recommended order is Azerbaijan-Georgia-Armenia. If you go to Armenia first and then Azerbaijan, you are in danger of being refused entry. In addition, the two countries have not established diplomatic relations and their borders are not open, so Georgia can only serve as a transition. Or use Iran as a transition like me, no problem.

Food Azerbaijan is very similar to Turkish food, mainly barbecue. But Albania also has a local specialty, which is a kind of broth like porridge. That's great. The pork chops in Armenia are very good, especially when I came out of Iran for half a month and found the pork delicious.

Georgia's specialty is steamed stuffed bun. However, the fillings are relatively simple and basically divided into two types: meat stuffing with cheese and meat stuffing without cheese.

There is also a small pot of beef stew: Aostri, very delicious, recommended!

Accommodation is mainly in B&B, which is recommended as follows:

The landlord of Baku, Azerbaijan, is a young man born after 90. He is very enthusiastic. He even gave me a free phone card and airport pick-up, invited me to a bar for a beer, and finally we became good friends.

Tatev in Armenia is just any one in the village. There are many hotels in the village with similar prices and services.

Yerevan's B&B is great. This is an old European house. The room is big and cheap: click to view it.

There are two houses in Tbilisi. The first one is also an old house. The room layout is very comfortable and fashionable. The disadvantage is that the curtains don't shade: click to view.

The second one is in the same house as the landlord's parents. The old couple are very enthusiastic. The room is small but enough: click to view.
