This building was built in the mid-1930s. Adjacent to Fuxing Park in the east, it is a three-story independent garden house with Spanish style. Zhang Xueliang's apartment, with red tile roof, milky white exterior wall and compact decoration design under white eaves. The height and size of the building have changed from front to back, which is full of the interest of China architecture. The main building of Zhang Mansion is a protruding three-story building with an aisle downstairs, a corridor in the south and a balcony on the second floor. The main building covers an area of 800 square meters. There is a hall downstairs, which used to be a place for banquets. The reception room is on the second floor, and the bedrooms of Zhang Xueliang and Zhao Yidi are on the third floor. It's a Spanish-style suite with a Spanish-style big bed. These exhibits are reproduced as they are. There is a 20-square-meter platform outside the house. There is a big garden in front of the building, with an area of about 1 000 square meters, named Yuan Di. Cinnamomum camphora, Cedar, Wisteria, Magnolia, Jingui and Yin Gui are planted in the park. The lawn is Manila-style, and there are several swing racks. In those days, Gaolan Road was a short road, with buttonwood trees planted on the sidewalk, branches and leaves covering the sky, and a park next to it. This is a very quiet place, but Zhang Xueliang lived there for a short time.

After liberation, this building used to be the office of the Democratic National Construction Association of Luwan District Federation of Industry and Commerce. Maintenance and protection were carried out in 1992 and 1994. Now it is the guest house of Shanghai Real Estate Administration, and several pavilions have been named Xue Jing Pavilion, Muliang Pavilion, Yi Qing Pavilion and Shao Shuai Pavilion. The photos of Zhang Xueliang and Zhao Yidi and Zhang Xueliang's handwriting are hung on the inner wall of the hall. This is the only handwriting of Zhang Xueliang in Shanghai.

Zhang Xueliang also hosted a banquet for friends and old subordinates at Gaolan Road 1 to discuss good strategies for saving the country.
