Fairy pear sculpture

One of the main attractions of the 10,000-mu Liyuan Scenic Area is located in the south of guoyuan, Liyuan, Yangxin Town, Yangxin County. Built in 2004, this sculpture is 7.5 meters high and 4.5 meters wide. The base is 4.5 meters long and 3.7 meters wide, all carved from granite. The back of the sculpture is engraved with the legend inscription of Yali pear: It is said that a long time ago, there was a vast and beautiful Qingbo Lake in this area. Fairy girls in the sky often come down here to play. One day, the seven fairies stole a fairy pear specially prepared for the Queen Mother in the Tiangong Orchard. After tasting it together, they left the fairy pear by the lake. In the past few spring and autumn, several fairy pear trees with deep roots and full of round yellow fruits have grown on the shore. Seeing this, the fairies are both happy and sad: if this matter is known by the heavenly queen, it will be punished. At this time, a flock of ducks came from the middle of the lake. When the fairies saw this, they had an idea: turn the fairy pear's neck into a duck's head, so that they could not see that it was from the sky. So, they used a little magic, and soon, the fairy pear became a pear. In the early years, Qingbo Lake became a green slope depression because of drying up, and several pear trees growing by the lake have multiplied into a large pear orchard, which has benefited generations of future generations. Yangxin Yali pear is therefore known as a fairy fruit on earth and is famous all over the world.

Statue of farmer champion Zhu Wanxiang

The front and south are engraved with the inscriptions "Zhu Wanxiang, the provincial science and technology champion" and "Between the laughing trees when the pear blossoms" respectively. A brief introduction to Zhu Wanxiang's life story in the west. Zhu Wanxiang, a native of Guo Village, Liyuan, Yangxin Town, devoted himself to studying the production technology of Yali pear since childhood. After 55 years of spring and autumn, it finally broke the historical conclusion of "three peaches and four pears for five years", solved the problem of "big and small years" of pear trees, and introduced the new technology of "Yali pear bears fruit in three years, high yield in five years, and the yield per mu exceeds 10 thousand Jin in eight years", which made Yangxin Yali pear achieve high and stable yield. Yangxin Yali pear covers an area of more than 200,000 mu, with an annual output of 65.438+0.5 billion Jin, accounting for 654.38+0/3 of farmers' total income. During his lifetime, Zhu Wanxiang was rated as the national model worker of greening and the champion of agricultural science and technology in Shandong Province, and was also hired as a visiting professor by Shandong Agricultural University. In order to commend his great contribution to the production and development of Yangxin Yali pear, and let people carry forward his scientific and technological spirit of being brave in exploration, practice and innovation forever, Yangxin County People's Government built a statue specially for him in April 1993.
