Taiwan Free Travel

Taiwan independent travel refers to the individual travel of mainland residents to Taiwan that has been piloted since June 28, 2011. The independent travel is commonly known as "air travel plus wine" in Taiwan, that is, air tickets plus hotels, and accommodation is arranged by travel agencies. There is transportation, but there is no tour guide accompanying you, and meals are arranged by the travelers themselves. Different from semi-self-guided tours, passengers are restricted in their choices of airline flights and hotels, but the flexibility of itinerary arrangements is the same as semi-self-guided tours.

Individuals come first to register Apply for a Taiwan Pass (Personal Travel G Visa) at the local immigration administration agency.

Apply for Taiwan Entry Permit at relevant institutions with your Taiwan Permit.

With the Taiwan Pass and Taiwan Entry Permit, you can travel freely to Taiwan (the maximum stay is 15 days).

The "Taiwan Travel Permit for Mainland Residents" is valid for five years, and the personal travel endorsement (G visa) is valid for six months

Required materials

1. Applicant’s Mainland Area Resident Identity Card. If you are a minor and have not yet obtained your resident identity card, please bring your household registration book.

2. The applicant’s Taiwan Travel Permit for Mainland Residents must be G-endorsed (individual travel), with more than 6 months of validity remaining,

3. Two-inch color photos with white background taken within the past two years.

The attached photo should be processed according to the photo shooting specifications of the National ID Card, and can be identified as the same person as the photo on the Resident ID Card or Taiwan Pass.

However, those whose Taiwan Pass was issued less than two years ago do not need to attach a photo and can directly scan and use the photo on the Taiwan Pass.
