Is it safe to travel to Brazil?
Let me talk about our experience in the slums of Rio, Brazil. Can be used as another reference.
Alemao is the most famous slum in the world, so when we sailed to Brazil, we decided to take an adventure in Alemao.
We decided to take a cable car from the mountain and enter the slums of Alemao.
At the cable car station, we saw dense and colorful slums. There are also some tourists here. They said the police station was in the back, and they only dared to come down here and watch the scenes in the movie. Only desperate people dare to go down.
There are also eight or nine-year-old children who set up stalls here to do business, sell gadgets and sell mineral water. Liang Hong asked a child if he was afraid. The child said that he was afraid before, but now he is not afraid. Although there were many bad people here before, now. Now it's all over.
After getting off the cable car and going deep into the slum, a shirtless guy leaned in, smiled at us, asked me for a cigarette and invited us to his house. This makes me a little confused. I want to go, but I dare not. There are many of us, and the potential danger is even greater. I grit my teeth and decided to go with him. I'm glad you're here.
His home is a brick hut with four walls. He said he could eat anything as long as he was given some medicine. I'm a little shocked. The first person I met was an addict. Seeing that he has lost weight, everyone has some sympathy.
Unexpectedly, he said, it's good to live in a slum here. When he washes the dishes every day, he can look up and see the panoramic view of Rio. Monte Cristo in the distance and the sea nearby are so beautiful.
His neighbor's house looks very rich, and he invited us in. There is a sofa and two chairs in the room. The host is very talkative, lying on the sofa, began to gush.
He also said it was nice to live in a slum. They do not interfere with drug dealers at all, and each has its own activity area. It's not as terrible as people outside say.
After arriving at the cable car station in Brasilia, the tour guide looked a little unnatural. There are many bullet holes in the wall of the station. This is the area where drug dealers have the most frequent activities, and there are frequent exchanges of fire. Last week, one of his partners died here. He urged us to leave as soon as possible, saying that he got the news that there would be a drug deal here soon and the police station had sent someone.
In Yu Guangli, I saw two policemen with guns hiding in the corner. I don't want to stay here, but I don't. I don't want to leave. I want to follow the police. The guide was anxious, saying that drug dealers were silent when they met foreigners; If we don't leave at once, he will leave us alone.
We have no choice but to leave the Brasilia cable car station. There is a TV in front of a canteen next to it, and some people gather there to drink and watch the ball. I don't want to-I don't want to miss this confrontation between the police and the gangsters. I want to wait here for things to develop. There was a World Cup elimination match between Brazil and Chile on TV, and the shopkeeper moved some chairs for us to sit on. Everyone turned to look at us with serious eyes, but soon turned their eyes back to the game on TV.
Seeing us here, concentrating on watching the ball and supporting Brazil, they became friendly to us in an instant, and a buddy even gave us a bucket of drinks. Children playing around often come to our camera and smile and make faces.
Sitting in the crowd, I can. I can't help but get nervous and hold my bulletproof vest tightly. In other places around, cheers came from afar and everyone was watching the game. Bullet holes in the wall, bloody past, lurking drug dealers, waiting police. They all seem indifferent. They have long been used to it, totally immersed in the game. Children seem to be used to playing by themselves.
In the most dangerous slum, the emotions of people around me also infected me, gradually forgetting the feelings of tension and fear, and wholeheartedly integrating myself into it. Football is really a magical sport. It can unite all people and make people forget the pain and danger. At the end of the game, everyone stood up to celebrate Brazil, and I cheered and applauded with them.
What happened to the police and drug dealers not far away? I don't know. There is football. Who cares?
