Introduction to Oster
Introduction:
hans oersted (Hans &; Oslash; Rsted (August 14th, 1777-March 9th, 1851), Danish physicist and chemist. Born on August 14, 1777 in a pharmacist's family in Rude Jobin, Langeland, Denmark. At the age of 12, he began to help his father work in the pharmacy, while insisting on studying chemistry. Due to hard study, at the age of 17, he was admitted to the free student of Copenhagen University with excellent results, studying medicine and natural science. While working as a tutor, he studied pharmacology, astronomy, mathematics, physics and chemistry at school. In the field of physics, he first discovered that the current of the current-carrying wire would act on the magnetic needle and make it change direction. In the field of chemistry, aluminum was the first element he discovered. In the late 19th century, the post-Kantian philosophy and evolution in science were more embryonic because of his writing. He was also the first modern thinker who clearly described the thought experiment, and created the term "Gedankenexperiment".

In 186, he was hired as a professor of physics and chemistry at the University of Copenhagen, studying topics such as current and harmony. Since 1815, he has been the permanent secretary of the Royal Danish Society. In 182, he won the Copley Medal of the Royal Society for his outstanding discovery of the current magnetic effect. In 1824, he initiated the establishment of the Danish Association for the Promotion of Natural Sciences. In 1829, he became the president of the Copenhagen Institute of Technology until his death in Copenhagen on March 9, 1851. At the age of 74.

Oster is a passionate teacher who attaches importance to scientific research and experiments. He said, "I don't like boring lectures without experiments. All scientific research begins with experiments." Therefore, it is welcomed by students. He is also an outstanding speaker and natural science popularization worker. In 1824, the Danish Association for the Advancement of Science in propose to create established the first physics laboratory in Denmark.
In 198, the Danish Association for the Advancement of Natural Science established the "Oster Medal" to commend physicists who made great contributions. Oster's achievements have been recognized by the academic circles. In order to commemorate him, the unit of magnetic field intensity has been named Oster in the world since 1934, abbreviated as "Austria". In 1937, the American Association of Physics Teachers established the "Oster Medal" to reward physics teachers who made contributions to physics teaching.
