Basongcuo Lake, also known as Cuogo Lake, means "green water" in Tibetan and has the reputation of "outdoor paradise". It is a famous Catholic holy lake, with a length of about 12 km, the deepest point of more than 60 meters and a total area of more than 6,000 mu. The shape of the lake is like a crescent moon, embedded in a high mountain canyon. The lake is crystal clear and surrounded by snow. Sha Ou and crane float on the lake, which is transparent and full of fish. There is Cuozong Gongba Temple on Tashi Island in the middle of the lake, which was built in the late Tang Dynasty. The reefs on the island are carved into unique animal images and Buddha statues. Cuozong Temple is a civil structure, with two floors, dedicated to Qiangbafo, Thousand-handed Guanyin and the golden married couple.
