Fenghuang Ancient Town Travel Guide:

When traveling to Fenghuang Ancient Town, it is recommended to visit Tuojiang River, Hongqiao, Tuojiang Diaojiaolou, Tuojiang Rock Jumping and Wanming Pagoda.

1. Tuojiang River

The mother river of Fenghuang Ancient City is the Tuojiang River, with Miao stilt houses on both sides. These historic buildings have witnessed the vicissitudes of a century. The water of Tuojiang River is crystal clear, and the water plants on the bottom of the river sway with the water. Tourists can take a boat to enjoy the beautiful scenery in the river. There are two sections of Tuojiang River rafting. The upstream is a regular cruise ship. Visitors can board the boat at the pier on the north side of the North Gate Tower, and then drive east to the Wanshou Palace to disembark, enjoying the beautiful scenery of the Tuojiang River on the way.

The boating point downstream is at the Sightseeing Bridge Pier, which is a private boat owned by farmers. Tourists can buy tickets separately and can also go boating at night in summer. In the early morning on the Tuojiang River, with mist lingering, local residents were washing clothes on the riverside. This was one of the most beautiful scenes in the ancient city.

2. Hongqiao

Hongqiao, also known as "Fengyu Tower", is one of the best places for viewing and photography in Fenghuang Ancient City, and is also a good place for tourists to shop. It straddles the Tuojiang River and is the central landmark building of Fenghuang Ancient City. It is both an attraction and a gathering place for tourism and shopping. At both ends of the bridge are couplets written by Huang Yongyu and written by his brother Huang Yongqian.

Hongqiao *** has two floors. The first floor is a pedestrian passage where tourists can travel to and from both sides of the Tuojiang River. The second floor overlooks the entire Phoenix Ancient City and is one of the best viewing spots in the ancient city.

3. Tuojiang Diaojiaolou

Diaojiaolou is an ancient building complex full of Miao architectural features in the ancient city of Fenghuang. It is also one of the largest groups of stilted buildings in China. With the development of tourism in Fenghuang Ancient City, residents in stilted buildings began to renovate their houses to accommodate tourists. The best place to view the stilted buildings is in the Shawan area, or from a wooden boat on the Tuojiang River.

4. Tuojiang Rock Jump

The iconic attraction of Fenghuang Ancient City is a Rock Jump formed by two rows of independent square stone piers. This jumping rock is located on the Tuojiang River, facing the North Gate Tower. It is the best shooting spot for tourists. When you pass by here, you need to "jump" step by step. Under your feet is the clear Tuojiang River, which is quite exciting. Rock jumping is also one of the most popular shooting spots in Phoenix. Standing on the rock, you can enjoy the vast Tuojiang River and beautiful scenery.

5. Wanming Pagoda

Located on the north bank of Tuojiang River, Wanming Pagoda is a tall, hexagonal brick tower. It stands quietly by the river, and its reflection is reflected in the blue waves, which is particularly beautiful. Not far from Wanshou Palace, students often come here to sketch. After nightfall, the lights of Wanming Tower are turned on, and its reflection complements the shadow of the tower on the other side, which is very spectacular. Here, visitors can take wonderful photo memories. The warm yellow lighting inside the tower is also great for taking photos.
