How to choose a suitcase when the whole family travels abroad together?

On most international flights, each person can take three pieces of luggage, including a checked baggage (no more than 23kg), a carry-on baggage (no more than 5kg or 8kg, with different airline standards, such as British Airways 5kg, Air China 8kg and Swissair 8kg), and a computer bag or cosmetic bag.

There are some exceptions to international flights. I met Dutch Airlines once, and I can check 2 pieces of heavy luggage (23kg each). A colleague took Malaysia Airlines once (only a few months after the accident of Flight 370) and was able to check two large pieces of luggage.

But these are the upper limits. If you are taking your children to travel abroad, such as 1 week, you don't need to bring so many things at all. For example, two adults take 1 child, and it is recommended to take two checked baggage (two adults take) and two computer backpacks (two adults carry). If the children are older (for example, 10 years old), they can take another small suitcase of 1 to board the plane, and the children can take it by themselves.

Small suitcases can be of any type. It is recommended to choose a big suitcase with four wheels, which can be pushed open and save effort.
