After arriving at the scenic spot, normally the car can only be parked in the parking lot at the foot of the scenic spot, then pick up your luggage and walk up. We originally wanted to follow the instructions of the scenic spot, park in the parking lot of Dazhai, and then walk to Tiantou Village, because we thought it was not very far from the map. As a result, the parking lot in Dazhai was full, and we were instructed to go to Xiaozhai. Although looking at the map, we didn’t think it was very far, but after all, we had an elderly man, so we called the innkeeper to ask what we should do. This phone call changed the whole situation. When the innkeeper heard that we were directed to Xiaozhai, he anxiously told us not to go. Xiaozhai was far away and asked us to go back to the ticket office of the scenic spot. He arranged for an old man in national costumes to come back. My wife was waiting for us at the main entrance, ready to take us up the mountain. The inn we booked is in Tiantou Village.

It is necessary to put a tour map of Longji Rice Terraces to explain. We chose Tiantou Village because it is far away from No. 1, 2, and 3 Viewpoints. The scenic spots are all quite close (seemingly).

The village is still under construction, but the roads are all bad and it is difficult to walk up. Unfortunately, we only drove a small Kia Cerato, so we gritted our teeth and went up! This drive really cost the car half its life. The road up there was worse than expected, with sharp rocks, big holes, and mud. There was a long way to go. In fact, it took us a full hour to reach Tiantou Village after a few kilometers of driving.

My boyfriend and I decided to rush to the Golden Buddha Summit (No. 3 viewing platform on the map) to watch the sunset before dark. From Tiantou Village to Jinfoding, the innkeeper said that you have to leave quickly. It will take more than 2 hours to walk there. If you walk faster, you may be able to catch the sunset.
