Where to have fun in Congjiang?

Basha Miao Village is the most interesting place in Congjiang, and if you don’t listen to Xiao Huang’s Dong songs, your trip to Congjiang will be in vain. Of course, in addition, there are many places worth seeing in Dong villages such as Fengdeng, Zaidang, and Gaozeng. Transportation: 1. There are fewer flights from Kaili to Congjiang, and there are usually only buses in the morning. Tourists can first go to Rongjiang and Liping, and then transfer to Congjiang. 2. The road from Rongjiang to Congjiang is a first-class highway with beautiful scenery. The fare is 15 yuan. Chartered car costs 120 yuan and takes 2-3 hours. 3. If you want to go from Congjiang to Sanjiang, you can take a minibus for 15 yuan/person, which takes about 2-3 hours. The sleeper car from Jiangjiang to Liuzhou also passes through Sanjiang, and it costs 20 yuan/person. Food and accommodation: 1. The local guesthouses are expensive The price is 30-60 yuan/room. (Non-holiday) 2. The recommended place to eat is Huanan Restaurant. The fish there is better and the dishes are also good. Tips: There are Internet cafes in Congjiang County where you can surf the Internet. Basha Miao Village (pronounced "bia" is the local dialect of Congjiang). Basha Miao Village is located in the hinterland of Moon Mountain, a branch of Jiuwan Mountain, on the side of Duliu River, 7 kilometers away from Congjiang County. It consists of five natural villages, with a total of 420 Twelve households are known as "living fossils of Miao culture". It is said that the ancestors of the Basha Miao people were the vanguard of the Great Migration. For thousands of years, the men here have retained the custom of long hair and braids. They hang shotguns, gourds, horns, and machetes on their waists all year round, and carry medicine on their shoulders. The women wear side buns, wooden combs, and triangular skirts with Miao king's square prints. Transportation: The shuttle bus from Rongjiang to Congjiang does not pass through Basha. If you want to go to Basha, you have to go to Congjiang first, and then find a bus. The price for small noodles is 3 yuan. You can also charter a minibus or local tricycle at the Congjiang Bridge, which costs 30 yuan round trip and takes 15 minutes. When going back to Congjiang from Basha, you can hitchhike at the roadside for 4 yuan/person. Ticket: 10 Yuan Fengdeng On the way from Rongjiang to Liping, this is a relatively remote Miao village on this trip, relatively barren and secluded. You can pass through here to get to Zaidang. Transportation: Rongjiang to Fengdeng, provincial highway, fare 5 yuan, 40 minutes. You can also take the shuttle bus bound for Liping on the side of Chejiang Dongzhai Highway, get off at Fengdeng Ao, get off and walk for more than 10 minutes. Accommodation: You can stay at Fengdeng Primary School, 4 yuan/person. Zaidang Zaidang is the hometown of Dong songs. The Dong people belong to the Miaolan Zaidong branch among the six major Dong branches in Rongjiang County. You must listen to Dong songs in Zaidang. The price is about 160 yuan per performance. They are pleasant to the ear and worth recalling. Transportation: Take a bus from Rongjiang to Fengdengxia. It only takes an hour to hike from Fengdeng to Zaidang on a 4-kilometer mountain road. The scenery along the way is beautiful. Catering: The food is not very good, but the price is very cheap, 5-10 yuan/person. Gaozeng Gaozeng is about 8 kilometers away from Congjiang County. It is a quite large village. And it is said that Gaozeng is a place where beautiful women come from. Transportation: 1. If you want to go to Gaozeng Dong Village, you can take a tricycle in Congjiang County to Qingyun Qiaotou for 1-2 yuan. From here, you can take a two-wheeler ride for 3 yuan. You can also charter a car, which costs 30 yuan for a round trip. 2. The bus from Gaozeng to Xiaohuang runs once a day and passes by from about 3 to 6 o'clock. Just wait at the door. It costs 10 yuan per person. You can also rent a car from the township government gate of Gaozeng Dong Village for 30 yuan and it takes more than an hour to get to Xiaohuang. Tickets: 6 yuan. Food and accommodation: There are hotels and restaurants at the entrance of the village, 5-10 yuan/day. Bathrooms are public and no bathing is allowed. You can have a meal together at the host's house. Tips: There is an IC card phone at the entrance of Gaozeng Village that you can use. Zengchong Drum Tower Zengchong Drum Tower was built in the 11th year of Kangxi reign of the Qing Dynasty (1672). It is the largest and best-preserved Dong drum tower in Guizhou Province. With its superb and complex architectural structure, exquisite production technology and unique shape, it ranks first among the Miao and Dong drum towers. One of its characteristic buildings is the Fengyu Bridge, also known as the Dong Family Covered Bridge. Transportation: 1. The transportation to Zengchong Dong Village is very inconvenient, and there is still no shuttle bus to reach it. From Rongjiang to Zengchong, you can take the Zhongba bus from Rongjiang to Congjiang and get off at Tingdongxia, which costs 3 yuan per person. Waiting at the forestry checkpoint at the intersection for tractors or trucks from the Dong compatriots entering the mountain, we hitchhiked into the village for more than two hours. The road conditions are very poor and it may be impossible to drive if it rains. 2. From Zengchong to Zengchong, you can wait at the Zengchong intersection for a truck bound for Zengchong from Dong Village for 7-8 yuan/person. The first bus passes through Zengchong at around 7:00. After that, wait for the minibus from Rongjiang to Congjiang at the intersection. It costs 12 yuan/person to go to Basha and 13 yuan/person to go to Congjiang. 3. You can also hire a jeep at Qiaotou in Rongjiang County, and the round-trip price is about 300 yuan. Accommodation: The accommodation conditions in Zengchong Dong Village are not very good. If you go to Zengchong, you can contact the village chief and live in the village committee or stay in a Dong family for 5 yuan/person; eat at a villager's house for 5 yuan/person. Xiaohuang is 22 kilometers away from Congjiang County. In Xiaohuang, children ranging from three or four years old to elderly people in their eighties can sing. Minions go to bed late and get up late. They usually start singing in the afternoon and continue singing until evening. There are large-scale big songs on the third and fourth days of the lunar month, while there are only ordinary male and female duet songs on the fifth and seventh days of the lunar month. On the hillside of Xiaohuang Old Primary School, you can see a panoramic view of the village. Xiaohuang and Basha are highly recommended here.
