The Central Civilization Office and the National Tourism Administration announced the "Convention on Civilized Behavior of Chinese Citizens in Domestic Tourism" on October 2, 2006. The specific contents are as follows:
Creating civilized and harmonious tourism The environment is related to the vital interests of every tourist. It is the obligation of all of us to be civilized tourists. Please abide by the following conventions:
1. Maintain environmental sanitation. Do not spit or chew gum, do not litter, and do not smoke in non-smoking places.
2. Observe public order. Don’t make noises, queue up and keep order, don’t block the road in parallel, and don’t talk loudly in public places.
3. Protect the ecological environment. Do not trample on green spaces, do not pick or break flowers, trees and fruits, and do not chase, throw or feed animals indiscriminately.
4. Protect cultural relics and historic sites. Do not paint or carve on cultural relics, do not climb or touch cultural relics, and abide by the regulations when taking photos and videos.
5. Take care of public facilities. Do not deface guest room supplies, do not damage public facilities, do not take advantage, save water and electricity, and do not waste meals.
6. Respect the rights of others. Do not force yourself to take photos with foreign guests, do not sneeze at others, do not occupy public facilities for a long time, respect the work of service personnel, and respect the religious customs of all ethnic groups.
7. Pay attention to treating others with courtesy. Dress neatly and appropriately, do not go bare-chested or shirtless in public places; be courteous to the old, young, sick and disabled, and be courteous to ladies; do not use foul language.
8. Promote healthy entertainment. Resist feudal superstitious activities and reject pornography, gambling, and drugs.
