1989 After the Anhui Provincial People's Government announced Wan 'an Ancient Town as a provincial historical and cultural protection zone, Huangshan City and Xiuning County attached great importance to it and strengthened its protection. According to the protection plan, comprehensively protect Wan 'an Old Street, and prohibit demolition and reconstruction. Since 2000, the style of the old street has been effectively protected, and there are no new buildings that are not in harmony with the traditional style. The disorderly buildings at the entrance of Wan 'an New District, which is connected with the old street, were demolished, and houses with traditional Huizhou architectural style were built on the roadside as guiding buildings to enter the old street.

4. Building "Xuefu Square" and "Fengshui Cultural Park"

On the north side of the highway, there is a century-old famous school "Xiuning Middle School". In Xiuning Middle School, Ke Qingshi, one of the leaders of China's * * * production party, and Hu Yushu, a famous linguist, all gave lectures. From 2003 to 2004, Xuefu Square was built outside the school gate of Xiuning Middle School, and the Fengshui Cultural Park was built on the east side of Xuefu Square. The first phase of the "Fengshui Cultural Park" has been completed, and the layout is designed according to the traditional Huizhou village "Shuikou". In the park, seven layers of stone compasses are stacked, and a large bronze sundial on the top floor is placed in it, which has become a new landmark building in Wan 'an Town.

According to the declaration of "intangible cultural heritage" protection projects carried out by the state, Xiuning County actively organized the declaration under the unified deployment of Huangshan City. Xiuning County has successively established "Wan 'an Compass Science and Technology Declaration Leading Group" and "Wan 'an Compass Protection and Development Leading Group". Determine the special person to collect historical and current information, write the declaration text, and invite the famous Huizhou research experts in the city as consultants.
