Guide route recommendation for Jieyang two-day tour
Travel tips
Traffic tip: If you go to Jieyang, you can take Chaoshan Airport and Chaoshan Station of high-speed rail. There are buses to Jieyang city in both places, but less than those in Shantou.
In addition, the public transportation in Jieyang is very poor, which may be related to the fact that local people don't take public transportation very much. After all, a motorcycle can reach the whole city with one foot in 15 minutes. Foreign tourists suggest renting a car, driving by car or Didi.
Jieyang cuisine: Chaoshan cuisine is similar. Please refer to my previous tweet in Shantou. Special mention ~ shrimp and crab porridge, wrapped in cat meat (please ignore it if you mind, Zhang Ge has never tasted it anyway. PS: The airport is in Battery Town)
Jieyang specialties: jade, Shang Ping green tea, table tennis.
Suggested itinerary
Jieyang has some historical landscapes, and Jiexi County has some natural landscapes. It is recommended to travel for 2 days. If you just visit the city, it only takes one day.
Day 1: Chaoshan Airport-Jieyang Building-Jinxianmen-Jieyang Academy-Chenghuang Temple-Rongjiang Music Fountain
Isn't it strange to list the airport as one of the scenic spots? Although Chaoshan Airport is small, some details are designed with a sense of design and full of Chaoshan cultural elements. If you arrive by plane, it's worth seeing.
For example, the information counter in the departure hall designed by a well-known designer "takes off and returns to the nest": birds spread their wings, which is a metaphor for the economic take-off in Chaoshan. When Bai Niao came home, he placed a good meaning of safe return, good luck and well-being. The pictographic word "bird" is sublimated into the image of "bird", which means that Chaoshan talents come forth in large numbers. The implication is quite rich.
Jieyang Building: Located in Jiedong District, it is a landmark attraction to enter the urban area. This is a newly-built antique building with a beautiful night view, surrounded by Jieyang Tower Square and eight Jieyang stone tablets.
Jinxianmen: the only remaining ancient city gate in Jieyang City, through which you can go directly to Jieyang Academy. "Sanctification" is the promotion of saints. It is said that in the past, local officials had to enter the city through this door, and Jieyang men had to take their wives or students to colleges and universities to get virtuous wives and high school students.
Gong Xue, Jieyang: It's the Confucius Temple in Jieyang, which is very big. The data shows that it is the largest in Lingnan area. In ancient times, in addition to offering sacrifices to Confucius, it was also a place for scholars to study.
Chenghuang Temple: The couplets on both sides are mostly words that guide people to be good: good and evil are self-made, and they are not to blame. Good for evil, good for evil, good for evil. God knows you know, I know I don't know.
Rongjiang Music Fountain: The main spray of this fountain can reach 19 1.25m, which is said to be the best in Asia. There are also surrounding tourist buses pulling tour groups to see it.
The next day: Sanshan Wang Gong Temple-Huangmanzhai Waterfall Group
Sanshan King Ancestral Temple: Sanshan King is a kind of belief and belongs to Taoism. This Sanshanwang Temple in Jiexi County was built in the Sui Dynasty with a history of 1400 years. It is the originator of more than 6,000 Sanshanwang temples at home and abroad, so it is called the ancestral hall. Sacrificial ceremonies are organized every year, and many people come from overseas to attend this ancestral temple.
Huang Zhai Waterfall: The road leading to Huangmanzhai is a mountain road, so you need to be careful when driving on Panshan Highway. The scenic spot requires climbing mountains, but the mountains should not be too high and the intensity should be moderate. There are many waterfalls in the scenic area, which are spectacular when there is a lot of rain in summer.
