Depart around 8: a.m. and go to Lugou Bridge. After arriving at Lugou Bridge, you can visit the tablet pavilion of Lugou Bridge first to learn about the historical background of Lugou Bridge.

Lugou Bridge, also known as Lugou Bridge, is located in Yongding River, Fengtai District, Beijing. It is named after crossing the Lugou River. It is an existing ancient stone arch bridge in Beijing. In June of the 29th year of Jin Dading, Lugou Bridge was built. In 1961, Lugou Bridge was announced as the first batch of national key cultural relics protection units. In 1985, Lugou Bridge was officially retired and closed in 1991.

Lugou Bridge has a total length of 266.5m and a width of 7.5m. The bridge deck with wild goose wings on both sides of the bridge is bell-mouthed, and the bridge deck of Lugou Bridge is slightly curved, with lower ends and raised middle. It is paved with huge natural granite strips, and cobblestones and quartz sand with a thickness of several meters are laid on the riverbed under the bridge. The whole bridge body is very solid and stable. The semi-circular arch coupons of Lugou Bridge are built by longitudinal solid abdomen method, so that 11 arch coupons are integrated.

Building structure

The deck of Lugou Bridge is slightly curved, with lower ends and a bulge in the middle. The piers, arch coupons, watchcolumns, balustrades, drum-hugging stones and huabiao are all built with natural Shi Ying sandstone and marble, while the bridge deck is paved with huge natural granite strips. The riverbed under Lugou Bridge is paved with pebbles and quartz sand several meters thick, and the whole bridge body is built on it very firmly. The plane of the pier is a flat-bottomed boat, with the upstream in the north, which is the water inlet, and the water diversion tip is built like the bow, which is 4.5-5.2 meters long, accounting for about a quarter of the pier.

At the front end of each water diversion tip, a triangular cast iron with a width of 26 cm and an acute angle outward is installed, so as to reduce the impact of floods and ice cubes and protect the stability of the water diversion tip. On top of the water diversion tip, six layers of water diversion stone slabs are covered, which are called the wind-burning platform, and the lower two layers are picked out. The above layers are collected one after another, with a height of 1.83 meters, which not only strengthens the stability of the water diversion tip, but also balances the bearing pressure of the pier.
