Hong Kong Tourism Board launched Quality Tourism Services (QTS) in June1999165438+1October. The certification scheme aims to enhance the service culture of merchants and help customers identify quality service providers. Merchants must abide by strict regulations and pass the annual assessment before they can obtain certification. Authorized merchants will display the "Quality Tourism Service" sign in the window for identification.

At the initial stage, the plan only covers two projects: retailers and restaurants. In June 2006 +065438+ 10 and March 20 10, respectively, the Hong Kong Tourism Board extended the scheme to tourist accommodation services and hair salons.

Among many consumer protection schemes in Hong Kong, the Quality Tourism Service Scheme is one of the more successful ones. As of March 20 10, 7,200 stores have been certified. Other well-known schemes, including the genuine goods pledge scheme promoted by the Intellectual Property Department, involved 4,700 stores in 2008.

After the launch of the Quality Tourism Service Scheme, the former HKTA member label with the logo representing the red sailboat ceased to be used in 2000. As early as 1965, the membership label of the Hong Kong Tourist Association was used.
