4 days, 1000 kilometers, in-depth experience of Buick Envision S in beautiful Gannan

Gannan, the full name of Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, is under the jurisdiction of Gansu Province. Gannan is located at the junction of the three provinces of Gansu, Sichuan and Qinghai where the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and the Loess Plateau overlap. It has a mild climate and is engaged in agriculture and animal husbandry. It is not only one of the five major pastoral areas in the country, but also one of the six major green treasures in the country.

Due to its beautiful scenery, Gannan Autonomous Prefecture is known as the back garden of Gansu and China’s Little Tibet. There are not only two national nature reserves, the first bend of the Yellow River, Sangke grassland, Dayugou and other natural scenery in the territory, but also more than 120 Tibetan Buddhist temples such as Labrang Monastery, Luqulangmu Monastery and Zhuoni Zending Monastery. It can be said that monasteries are also important inheritance sites of Tibetan culture.

Recently, friends from Che Kuaiping New Media followed the SAIC-GM Buick Envision S, not only enjoying the beautiful scenery of Gannan, but also experiencing in depth this brand new model of Buick.

On July 29, the SAIC-GM Buick Envision S and Envision S Avenir versions were launched, with prices ranging from 219,900 to 279,900 yuan. The new car not only adopts a new design language in terms of appearance design, but also in terms of power, all models are equipped with a 2.0T turbocharged engine, matched with a 9-speed automatic manual gearbox.

Although it is positioned as a medium-sized SUV, compared with the previous Buick Envision, the appearance of the Envision S also looks more sporty and youthful, and the body lines are sharper. At the same time, the price of Buick Envision S is also higher than that of Buick Envision S.

As a sporty model, although the Buick Envision S is slightly smaller in body size, the wheelbase and width are longer than the Buick Envision S, and the body height is also higher. Slightly lower. Therefore, the performance in terms of interior space is also excellent, and the reduction in vehicle height should be due to handling considerations.

After all, the Buick Envision S is an SUV model that focuses on handling.

In terms of interior design, Buick Envision S also inherits the design style of Buick Envision S. The difference is that the Buick Envision S uses an electronic push-button gearbox. Personally, I think that this kind of gearbox is more convenient than the traditional gear shifter. It doesn't have to be so troublesome to push around, and it also reduces the wear and tear on the gearbox.

There is also an air-conditioning control area under the air-conditioning outlet. Buick Envision S also has Buick Envision S’s physical buttons changed to touch-screen operations, which improves the sense of technology.

In the 4-day trip, Envision S accompanied me to complete the 1,000-kilometer journey. These include urban roads, provincial roads, expressways and winding mountain roads. In terms of overall comfort, whether it is riding or driving, Envision S can bring a better experience. It should be noted that because there is a bulge in the middle of the second row and there are no headrests in the middle of the rear seats, it will be very uncomfortable if you sit in the middle of the second row for a long time.

In addition, Buick Envision S still performs very well in suppressing noise in the car.

Finally, let’s talk about the test drive experience.

All Envision S series models are equipped with a 2.0T turbocharged engine, matched with a 9-speed manual transmission, with a maximum power of 237 horsepower and a maximum torque of 350 Nm. In terms of driving modes, Envision S*** has standard mode, four-wheel drive mode, sports mode and off-road mode to choose from. In city driving and on the highway, I choose the standard mode. But if it rains, it is safer to switch to four-wheel drive mode when driving at high speed.

When driving on provincial roads or mountain roads, I basically use the sports mode. I also switched to the four-wheel drive mode in the middle, and I felt that there was still a clear difference in acceleration compared to the sport mode.

According to Buick’s official data, the Envision S accelerates from 100 kilometers to 100 kilometers in 7.5 seconds. In actual driving, its performance did not disappoint me. Especially when overtaking on provincial highways, the response of the gearbox is very quick as long as the accelerator is pressed deeply. Coupled with the assistance of four-wheel drive, it can indeed bring a lot of fun to friends like me who like to drive.

Because we did not encounter too complicated road conditions during the entire test drive, we did not have the opportunity to experience the off-road mode performance of the Envision S.

If we have the opportunity later, we will experience the Buick Envision S again and share it with you in detail at that time.
