The original buildings included the Main Hall, the Heavenly King Hall and the Guanyin Pavilion. In the fifth year of Chongzhen in the Ming Dynasty (1632), Wu Xiangguo of Chongren invited the monk Guanxin to preside over Longji Temple, during which the incense flourished. In the year of Guihai (1683), the reign of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty, the Longji Zhongxing Ancestral Pagoda was built, and the tombstones of masters Yingzhan and Haicong were erected, and the incense flourished again. In ancient times, geographer Le Shi of the Northern Song Dynasty, geographer Wu Cheng of the Yuan Dynasty, and Prime Minister Wu Daonan of the Ming Dynasty all visited here. During the Republic of China, the temple was destroyed by war and the monks were scattered. Only the Zhongxing Ancestral Pagoda and the Guanyin Hall built in the Qing Dynasty remained. During the 00s, Guanyin Hall was used as a temporary place for college students from Chongren County to work in the mountains, so it has been preserved to this day.

In order to implement the party’s religious policy, the Chongren County People’s Government approved Longji Temple as an open temple in 1985, and raised funds for repairs. With the support of the party and the government, the abbot, Zen Master Chunqian, raised money to connect with others. Rebuilt to its original scale and given a new look. There is a large courtyard in front of the temple. There are Tianwang Hall, Daxiong Hall and Guanyin Hall in the courtyard. There are dormitories for monks and nuns on both sides of more than 1200 square meters. The temple governs 130 acres of forest and 6 acres of paddy fields. There is a pond not far from the temple. It not only embodies the meaning of the "earth-viewing technique" of the former Zhuque (pond) and the later Xuanwu (mountain), but also serves as a "life-releasing pond" filled with a religious spirit of compassion. As soon as you arrive in front of the temple, you can see the inscription written by Guo Chunjing in the Xinji year of Kangxi (1701). "Longji Ancient Temple" has four powerful characters. Entering the mountain gate is the Heavenly King's Hall, with Maitreya Buddha on the front, Tianling Palace in the east, and Marshal Ma in the west. As a symbol of "good weather", after passing the Heavenly King's Hall is the Mahavira Hall. Inside the hall It is magnificent, with three giant Buddhas on the front, an "island" on the back, more than 100 large and small Bodhisattvas, and 18 Arhat statues on both sides. After passing the Main Hall, you will reach the Guanyin Hall, which contains a Thousand-Armed Avalokitesvara. The Buddha statues have a lifelike mentality and are full of " The sentiments of "rescuing the suffering" and "saving all sentient beings".

“Buddha is serene because of the unconventional customs, and the temple is charming because of the mountains and rivers.” Longji Temple integrates "halls, pavilions, pavilions and towers". With the characteristics of "secure, elegant, ancient and unique", "mountains, water, forests and rocks" complement each other, and religious buildings and natural scenery are integrated. In order to facilitate people to go up the mountain to watch and worship, in the winter of 2000, the temple was approved by the government and relevant departments. With the support, a stone road more than 2,000 meters long from the bottom of the mountain to the temple was built. Now people can easily go up the mountain while browsing the scenery on both sides and enjoying the magnificence of nature.
