The exam is divided into two parts: a written test and an interview. The written examination is a closed-book examination and a unified national computer examination is implemented. The interview is an on-site examination, organized by the provincial examination unit according to the examination syllabus and the "National Tour Guide Qualification Examination On-site Examination Work Standards (Trial)".

Subject 1 and Subject 2 are combined into one test paper for testing, in which the proportion of marks for Subject 1 and Subject 2 is 50% each; Subject 3 and Subject 4 are combined into one test paper for testing.
