Reflections on visiting Sansu Temple

We took a bus to visit Sansu Tomb. Sansu Tomb is the tomb of Su Xun, Su Shi and Su Zhe, the three literary giants of the Northern Song Dynasty. It is located in Jiaxian County Southeast corner of Sufen Village, Ciba Township.

We got off the motorcycle after a long journey, and first came to Guangqing Temple, a tourist attraction. When we entered Guangqing Temple, we saw green pines and cypresses, shaded by bamboo forests, clean and elegant, with the morning bell hanging high in the bell tower on the east side, and the morning bell on the west side. The huge drums in the side drum tower hang in the air, and curious tourists occasionally beat the morning bells and evening drums to break the silence of the temple, making people endlessly reverie.

Going through Guangqing Temple is the Sansu Temple. The statue of Sansu in the temple was handed down from the Yuan Dynasty. It is not appropriate to keep it intact to this day. There is also a story in it.

According to the tour guide: During the Cultural Revolution, this temple was converted into a school. The teachers knew the importance of this cultural relic statue, so they built a wall and pasted the portrait on the wall. allowing this artifact to survive.

There is a tombstone erected on both sides of the statue, which is the epitaph of Su Zhe's second son Su Zhongnan and his daughter-in-law Huang. It is with the records of these two tombstones that the three Su tombs were ended. Many disputes finally led to the confirmation of the Sansu tomb in Jiaxian County.

The east and west wings of Sansu Temple are decorated with life stories of Su Shi. Su Shi had the courtesy name Zizhan and Hezhong. After being demoted to Huangzhou, he named himself "Dongpo Jushi". He died at the age of 66. He served successively as In the four dynasties of the Northern Song Dynasty, he served as an official for forty years. He successively held more than 20 official positions, including Minister of the Ministry of War, Minister of the Ministry of Rites, and Bachelor of Duanming Palace. During this period, his official career was bumpy and he was demoted many times. Even though he was politically opposed, he was still: The waste of industry has not been forgotten for the sake of the country.

Reading Su Shi’s biography gave me a deeper understanding of him.

He is not only a writer, but also a wise official who is patriotic and caring for the people. It is his literary temperament and open-minded and bold demeanor that can sometimes express his nostalgia for the past: "Go east of the Yangtze River to find all the famous people of the ages..." A majestic song for the ages.

With admiration for Sansu, we walked to Sansu’s graveyard. The greenery here is quiet and peaceful. This environment is really an excellent soul habitat for the three great writers. .

The east and west sides are the tombs of Su Shi and Su Zhe, and in the middle is the tomb of his father Su Xun. The tomb of Yiguan was built by later generations to round Sansu's tomb. Standing in front of Sansu's tomb, I can't help but sigh. There are thousands of people in the world who can resist the laws of nature. Sooner or later, every dusty body will turn into a piece of loess. However, the spirit of writers has traveled through time and space and will forever inspire future generations.
