Dachangshan Island is located in the southeast of Liaodong Peninsula and in the north of Changshan Islands. It is the seat of the government of Changhai County, Liaoning Province, with a land area of 3 1.79 square kilometers, a coastline of 94.4 kilometers and a sea area of 65 1.5 square kilometers. Dachangshan Island is named for its length and mountains.
