What is the experience of traveling in Macau (1)? On "Poverty" in Macao

What kind of city is Macau? Special administrative region, casino, gambler ... maybe this word will pop up in your mind?

When I first set foot in Macau, my biggest feeling was that it was a very small city. Although there are three islands, I can visit the whole of Macau in a short time. There is only a narrow river between Zhuhai and Macao, and it takes about 10 minutes to swim, so there were many people smuggling in the early years.

Macao is a place where the gap between the rich and the poor is very serious. You can clearly find that the construction of slums and the construction of downtown casinos are completely two levels.

The houses in the slums are very crowded and shabby. Much like the old houses in Hong Kong movies in the 1980s and 1990s. In Macau, where land is scarce, housing prices are very expensive, so the distance between houses is very narrow. Maybe there is a meter or two between the two buildings, which looks very depressing and crowded. Some houses don't light all year round, and they are shabby, chaotic, dark and dreary.

However, it is such a house, and the price is incredibly high. The monthly rent is as high as seven or eight thousand yuan, so often the migrant workers in such houses (often from Vietnam and Nepal) need a dozen or twenty people to squeeze into a small house to afford the monthly rent of five or six hundred yuan.

The rich area in Macau is built on the hill behind Mazu Tempel, and the houses built on that hill are worth 300-400 million yuan to the poorest people. I cann't imagine it at all Anyway, when I saw the houses on that mountain, I didn't think how spectacular those houses were. They looked just like ordinary people. Perhaps it was because the aborigines lived in the mountains and later became a status symbol.

Many humble houses in the old city also cost 89 million yuan, and even continue to rise. I can understand that housing prices in Beijing and Shanghai are expensive, but in my opinion, those big cities are at least much more cost-effective than Macao. It can only be said that Macao people generally have a high income.

The floating population in Macao is much larger than that of the aborigines. Some of the floating population come from the mainland, but most of them are migrant workers, mainly from Vietnam and Nepal.

Macao is very kind to the aborigines. Generally, indigenous people can go directly to casinos after graduating from high school. The reason why I choose casino instead of other jobs is because casino is a place with good salary and welfare.

Simply put, as long as they graduate from high school at the age of 2 1, they can go to casinos to do some simple work, such as issuing cards and managing drinks, so that they can get at least a basic salary of 16000 a month, and then there will be a very good promotion channel. If you are a supervisor, you can get at least 70 thousand salary a month.

In my opinion, these jobs don't need too high technical content and too clever mind. It's amazing that there are jobs in the world that don't require too much effort and have relatively high incomes.

Heartbeat, right?

However, this policy is only effective for aborigines.
