Introduction to Lijiang Guanyin Gorge

The Guanyin Gorge Scenic Area is the entrance to Yulong Pass, one of the six passes in Bazi, Lijiang.

It is located in Yulongguan, the third pass of Bazi, Lijiang, and is known as the first scenic spot in Lijiang.

Lijiang Guanyin Gorge is a scenic spot based on natural landscapes such as mountains, rivers, canyons, forests, and lakes, and integrating cultural landscapes such as Tea Horse Street, Naxi villages, folk customs, and religious customs.

The long Tangqiu Road in Xiongguan is a reflection of the Guanyin Gorge on the Li River. It can be said to be the most dangerous fortress on the Yunnan-Tibet line of the Ancient Tea Horse Road. Xu Xiake entered the Lijiang River from this point and described Tangqiu Pass as the key to Lijun County. After entering this lock key, you enter the gate of Lijiang. After entering this gate, you can enter Lijiang from the front door.

Lijiang is located on the main road leading to Yunnan, Tibet, Nujiang and Bashu.

From a geographical point of view, it is an important location in the transition zone between Yunnan and Sichuan, and has become the largest transfer station and distribution center for Yunnan-Tibet trade. Qihe Qiutang Pass is located at the key pass of Li County where caravans and merchants gather.

This is also why King Mu cut down the manor here and sealed it off for security reasons, just for the Mu family's terms.

The wooden courtyard fully embodies the architectural style of the Naxi ethnic group with three squares and one wall, four entrances and five patios, exquisite six-way doors, and standard honeycomb walls.

Walking on Tea Horse Ancient Street, I can’t help but think of the glory of the caravans in the past. Today, there are many ancient workshops and shops on the ancient street, including carpenters' shops, shoemakers' shops, copper and iron shops, silverware shops, inns, taverns and shops.

Now these shops have resumed normal business, and also provide tourists outside Guanyin Gorge with a platform to share original ethnic culture. They display Dongba writing works, wood carvings, root carvings, embroidery, calligraphy and painting and other handicrafts in various forms to inherit the ancient Naxi culture.

Introduction to Lijiang Guanyin Gorge Tourist Route

Departing from Lijiang Old Town, it takes half an hour to enter the Lijiang Guanyin Gorge Scenic Area.

The first is the Ancient Tea Horse Road at the entrance. The Ancient Tea Horse Road is a private international trade route in southwest China with caravans as the main means of transportation. It originated from the tea and horse trade in the ancient southwest frontier, flourished in the Tang and Song Dynasties, and flourished in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. It can be divided into Sichuan-Tibet and Yunnan-Tibet.

Guanyin Gorge is the only gateway and military fortress on the Yunnan-Tibet Line from Lijiang to Tibet in the history of the Tea-Horse Road.

After passing the Ancient Tea Horse Road and then crossing the Jiamu Bridge, we arrived at the Jiamu Courtyard, which was the tax inspection office established by Mutus.

The wooden courtyard fully embodies the architectural style of the Naxi ethnic group with three squares and one wall, four entrances and five patios, exquisite six-way doors, and standard honeycomb walls.

Walking on Tea Horse Ancient Street, I can’t help but think of the past glory of the caravans. On the way forward, you can also see Tianxiang Tower, which is made of small stones glued together. This is a unique heaven-sacrifice tower of the Naxi people. Xiake Pavilion, where Xu Xiake once stayed; Tibetan Cultural Institute with a strong religious atmosphere.

Walking through the bustling market, the greenery is getting thicker, with dark green mixed in, and the fragrance of wild flowers; the weeping willows are reflected on the quiet lake, and the sky is bright and blue.

The antique Yunnan-Tibet Teahouse is located among green willows and bamboos, standing out against the backdrop of the lake.

Through a dense bamboo forest, there is a mountain tunnel about 385 meters long, which can be passed by electric train.

There is no way out of heavy water, but there is another village with dark flowers and bright flowers. Another village, a pond, the moon does not follow the flowing water. The wind in the canyon comes with the crowd passing through the tunnel, and more than 100 meters ahead is the entrance to Guanyin Gorge. There is a stone tablet: Lijiang Guanyin Gorge is quiet and quiet, with towering peaks, and you can gradually hear the sound of water.

Climbing over the mountain

I saw waterfalls flying straight down, arrows falling like rain, and it was indeed like the Milky Way falling from the sky.

This is Lijiang Guanyin Waterfall.

There is a standing statue of Guanyin in the cave on the side, so it is called Guanyin Gorge. Guanyin Waterfall has come to an end. Following the rolling torrent, I stepped forward

It is still ancient. Its courtyards, its streets, its rivers, and the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain in the distance all tell the story of an ancient history. story, but today’s Guanyin Gorge is no longer the same as before. It bid farewell to the vast and desolate post roads in western Yunnan, and bid farewell to the dark and chaotic secluded life. Today, Lijiang has opened all avenues to the outside world.
