"Red Bean King Wei" The legendary life of Yoshiko Kawashima's sister who fell from the "Seventeen Princesses" of the royal family

When Jin Moyu was young

In 1918, Prince Sushan, who was in exile in Lushun and still immersed in the industrial recovery of the Qing Empire, welcomed his 38th child. 90 years later, looking back at the 17th Soviet Pavilion in "Citizen Jin Moyu", the last pavilion also completed the memory and testimony of China's last dynasty.

Like everyone who wants to get rid of the shadow of birth, she tried to use her own labor to wash away the brands of "Seventeen Brothers" and "Sister Kawashima", so that from then on, her spine became Nine knots were tied. "It's a bit cold and I feel uncomfortable all over." In 1996, 78-year-old Jin Moyu founded the "Love Japanese School" in Langfang Development Zone and founded the "Oriental University Town" based on it. Before the interview at his home in Langfang, the nanny handed the old man a blanket to cover his legs, and tacitly gave him cigarettes, a lighter and an ashtray. The old man smokes very frequently, almost a pack a day. This is also Qin Cheng's living habit. In prison, when her back pain became unbearable, she relied on cigarettes to cope with the pain. Anyone who has watched Golden Devil will be shocked by her resilience and humor.

The Last Prince Su

When my father passed away in 1922, I was only 4 years old and I didn’t have much impression of him. I also learned a lot from books

Our family has the authentic Huang Zheng flag, which can be traced back to its origins. Our ancestor, the first prince Su, was named Hauge, the eldest son of Emperor Taizong of the Qing Dynasty. He fought bravely and became one of the eight "Iron Hat Kings". After Huang Taiji's death, he competed with Dorgon for the throne. Dorgon died early after he came to power.

My father, Aisincho Luoshan, was the tenth and last prince Su. Today, many historians consider him an enlightened man. At that time, he strongly advocated the establishment of a constitutional monarchy and made suggestions to the West. But the Queen Mother of the West was very unhappy after hearing this and attacked Prince Gong. When my father fell down, he burst into tears and felt that the Qing Dynasty was over. Every year the Queen Mother of the West, princes and ministers pay tribute. Her father wanted her to see advanced foreign things and told her, "People's civilization has developed to this extent, so the Qing Dynasty should stop being arrogant." He specially brought many things from Britain and France, such as sofas, rocking chairs, and binoculars. Telescope, gramophone, etc. But as soon as these things came back, some people said: "Wang Su wants to usurp the throne.". He kept them at home when he was angry and I played with them as a kid. I remember there was a very large music box, as big as a piano, that 16 people couldn't lift. There are many small pieces of wood on it. At first, some people were dancing, some were beating gongs, and some were playing drums, which sounded very happy. Later, they didn't know where they were.

My father became the Minister of Civil Affairs in his 40s, which is equivalent to the minister today. He was already a very young "official" in the Qing government at that time. He promoted police administration, household registration, health, and municipal construction across the country. After he took over the "Chongwenmen Tax Supervisor", he increased everyone's salary and told everyone that they must not accept bribes, which is a bit like today's "high salary to support integrity." Later, someone told the Queen Mother of the West that Wang Su handled the situation well. Who knows? The Queen Mother of the West said: "Who will resign instead of the king?" This means that there is no money to be made. Who wants to look after this stall? It is conceivable that the Qing government at that time was already corrupt.

My father was loyal to the Qing Dynasty. In 1912, he cried bitterly and opposed Puyi's abdication. He was the only prince who refused to sign the abdication order. After Puyi abdicated, he told his family that his private life should not be too luxurious after the death of the country, so he asked his family to dress simply. My mother has silk and cannot throw it away intentionally, so she usually puts a piece of cloth on it. My third mother is fat and afraid of heat. She is usually the only one who can wear tulle gowns. Everyone else should be made of cloth, not silk. Therefore, after his father's death, Puyi "gave" him the posthumous title "Zhongyi" and called him "Prince Suzong".

My father suddenly fell ill and died at the age of 56. He has one wife and four wives and 38 children. I was the youngest and lived in 17 rooms in the palace. I have 21 brothers and 16 sisters. Now many young people are curious and ask me if I can identify all my brothers and sisters. How could you not recognize it? When men quarrel and women quarrel with women, the youngest brother is called the twenty-first brother or younger brother. In the palace, we call our wife "grandma" and our mother "mother". My biological mother is the fourth lady. I don’t remember much about my mother, but I remember she was very competitive and always read a book with her legs crossed. My mother died before my father died. According to the nurse, my mother was exhausted from serving my father. In this way, when I was 4 years old, I lost my parents within a month.

Shunnian

When I was born in Lushun in 1918, my father had been living in exile in Lushun from Beijing for six years. At that time, my father wanted to use Japan to restore the rule of the Qing Dynasty and plan "Manchu independence". The Japanese prepared a house for him in Lushun and invited his father to "discuss big plans."

Our house in Lushun is built on a hillside. At that time, this place was called "New World". According to Japanese custom, this address was also called "Zhenyuan Town Fan's Land". I just remember when I was a kid, Lushun had mountains and seas. Very clean and quiet. There are no cars and the streets are lined with acacia trees. In the evening of June, the whole "New World" is fragrant. After liberation, I went to Lushun again, and it was completely different from what I had remembered. Our original house still exists, but after many changes, it too fell into disrepair. I lived in the People's Liberation Army for a while, lived in the Soviet Union for a while, and then worked in an elementary school.

There was a sign on the door saying that my dad was a reactionary or something like that. I don’t know what it looks like now.

When my father was alive, I didn’t have much contact with him. My father was the "king" and basically stayed with the king all the time, not as casually as we do now. We kids, we each had our own house, each of us had our own nanny and "watch mom," and we didn't even wander in and out of his mom's house.

My father organized the "General Conference Party". After the restoration failed, he went to Port Arthur and sent his brothers and sisters to Japanese schools. What he means is that he must learn advanced things from others. I think he has a good mind and is not the old concept that "a woman's lack of talent is her virtue". Therefore, my sisters all went to Lushun Girls' School, my brothers went to Lushun "Polytechnic University", and we went to the second primary school little by little. My classmates are all descendants of the Manzhouli Railway or the Guandong Hall.

Although there was no emperor at that time, the etiquette of the previous dynasty was still used in China. There was no sofa at home at that time, so I sat politely. I sat on the stool with only half my butt, and when I spoke to anyone, I had to turn my head slowly, based on the pendant on my ear. Gege doesn't have many opportunities to go out. Only when her sister gets married or relatives celebrate their birthdays does she have the chance to go out. Listening to her sisters' words, Gege went out with the curtain and put it down after getting on the sedan, so few people could see it. Therefore, in the imagination of ordinary people, the space of any palace is a kind of "beauty".

I am very glad that I was born late and did not suffer from these "external troubles". I have hated these red tapes since I was a child, and my sisters called me a "revolutionary." At that time, Gege was usually married to the Mongolian king, and my fifth aunt, Shankun, was extremely wealthy in Gongsang Norbu, Qinzhou. In our circle, we are also married. For example, my daughter Tian Wen married Li Hongzhang’s grandson. I think if the dynasty remains unchanged and I don't accept new education, I must accept my fate and follow the old path of my sisters. But where did so many princes go to get married? Maybe I'll end up an old maid.

Lushun and Dalian were also places where young and old gathered during the Qing Dynasty. After his father arrived in Lushun, Prince Gong Puwei followed him to Dalian. Prince Gong especially admired my father. He agreed with his father's view that the country should not be closed. Prince Gong is so beautiful. He looked like a monarch, unlike my father, who was a dwarf. He writes beautifully in lowercase letters. Ask him what he wrote in "Dream of Red Mansions" and he can talk freely. After my father died, he loved me very much and considered me his goddaughter. I have visited the palace mansion four times and it was "Sig". Prince Gong also never forgot the Qing Dynasty. In 1931, he went to Shenyang to pay homage to the tombs of ancestors of the Qing Dynasty. Later, he followed Puyi to Changchun Manchukuo and died a few years later. Now there is a house owned by Prince Gong in Dalian, and several of my brothers have also bought houses in Dalian. Now there is another one in Heishijiao, Dalian, which is said to have been turned into a hotel.

After Puyi fled Beijing in 1931, he hid in Lushun for a while. Puyi stayed at our house while he was in Lushun. During this period, he worshiped his ancestor as emperor and was also worshiped by Luo Zhenyu, Zheng and others. Puyi's trip is of course kept strictly confidential. I was only 12 years old at the time and had to go to school during the day. We children didn’t know he had ever been here. We only remembered that we moved out and built a small building for him to live in. Later I found out that Puyi was here. I have never met Wanrong, but my third sister and sister-in-law have served her.

When we first arrived in Lushun, our family was still a big family, but it has already exceeded that level, with more than 200 people! My father came to Port Arthur for the dream of restoration, but for those noble ladies, Port Arthur was too small and boring. How can it be compared with Beijing? They dare not move when my father is here, but our food, drinks and daily necessities are all shipped from Beijing. After their father's death, the wives quickly returned to Beijing, and the brothers went to Dalian. The extended family quickly disintegrated.

The Decline of the Royal Family

On the third anniversary of his father's death, he was sent back to Beijing for burial. I remember that a train was prepared for you, with my father's coffin in the front and my mother in the back. Almost everyone in Lushun came out to watch. The nearby farmers came by horse-drawn carriage on the first day and took the horse-drawn carriage at night just to wait and see the excitement. It is said that some old people still remember the "grand festival" at that time. The funeral procession was long. According to regulations, there were 64 people carrying the coffin and 128 people taking shifts on the road. At the front of the queue are mountains of gold, mountains of silver, horses and chariots. In order to rush for these supplies, all paper product stores in Lushun were emptied. Hundreds of relatives and friends were snapped up and buried. Because there were so many people in line, it took a whole day to get from Lushun's home to the train station.

This is also my first time coming to Beijing. My father was buried in the "Song Family", which is now the Jinsong area. Our family has two cemeteries, one in Shibalidian and one in the Song family. Because there is a dense pine tree in the cemetery that is hugged by several people, and its branches are supported by hundreds of logs, it is named "Song Family". Although the tree died in the late 1940s, the place names remain in use today. After his father passed away, his third sister, Senzan, who studied at Tokyo Royal Tea Girl Normal School, also came back to express his condolences. After that, she never went back. After this big family, there are only three sisters and sixteen sisters. I call her "Miss", and there are three of us, plus a dozen servants. According to the regulations at that time, a woman beside a monarch could not be granted a title without a boy. For example, my mother gave birth to my eldest brother when she was 17 years old. Because her first child was a boy, she was canonized early on as a saint.

My third sister’s mother passed away shortly after giving birth to her. My father sympathized with her, so when her father was still alive, she showed off her power at home. Everyone hated and feared this third space. Once her father died, she had no support and no place to go, so she invited us to go. Our property belongs to her. If she doesn't fight for us, she won't have anything. The third sister later opened a school and bought a farm, but she didn’t understand anything. At first, the fruit trees she planted were fairly large apples, but later they grew to be as big as begonias. My third sister met a female missionary who taught me English every time. Under her influence, the third sister, the twelfth sister, and the fifteenth sister all believed in Christianity. The third sister never married and died in the church.

I stayed in Lushun until I was 13 years old. After graduation, Puyi's Manchukuo was established, and I went to Changchun to study for a while. At that time, the brothers got an intense job in Manchukuo - working in Renminbi, and were appointed "Mayor of Qiqihar City" together with their mother and eldest brother. Later, I resigned because of disagreements with others and wanted to go to Japan. At that time, Ryoko Kawashima was also in Changchun. My brothers were worried that I would be influenced by her, so they took me to Japan.

When we went to Japan, we were arranged to go to a Japanese aristocratic school. Those who went to school together were all descendants of the Qing Dynasty, such as Wanrong's younger brother Runqi, Puyi's sister, and Sangge of Qin Chungong. They were all our classmates and later we became lovers. These runners were very naughty when they were young. He got upset, took out his gun and fired two shots into the air. But after experiencing so many hardships, his temper changed. I heard that he was fine not long ago, but I didn't expect that he fell to his death when he went out.

In 1940, Puyi visited Japan as the "Emperor of Manchukuo" and was received by Emperor Hirohito. The embassy organized our international students to meet him. This is the first time I met Puyi. He stood on the steps and we stood at the bottom watching, but without cheering or saluting like the Japanese. I was not excited when I saw Puyi, probably because I received a Western education when I was a child and was indifferent to the Qing Dynasty.

I went to the English Department of Tokyo Women's College in Japan. Every month someone sends me 100 yuan of "small foreign currency" from our real estate company in Dalian. If that's not enough, send a telegram and ask my family to send another one. 100 yuan is now equivalent to 10,000 yuan. I can't spend enough. How can a student spend so much money?

At that time, our home was controlled by the wave speed of Kawashima, which started from our home. My father approached him to fix it. When my father was still alive, he kowtowed to his father. He used to be a level 3 translator and his Chinese was not very good. Kawashima was worried that my father would be alone. He saw through our family and there was nothing his brothers could do. My brothers are smoking, and my brothers are still in school. When my father passed away, there was no one left in our family, and the entire family was controlled by Kawashima.

I watched Kawashima's "Wave Speed" when I was very young. He has been to Lushun. I remember he suddenly took off his socks and threw them back while he was eating. I didn't know why at that time, I was a little disgusted with him and felt that he had really low self-esteem. Kawashima has been in charge of my family for a long time. He dared not be rude to his father's wives. After they returned to Beijing, Kawashima gave them regular monthly living expenses. Those wives know nothing. As long as living expenses and livelihood are not an issue, they won't ask questions. They gratefully called him "Lord Kawashima." Later, grandma, Sanniang and Erniang passed away one after another, and Kawashima Sulang gradually took control of our property. We have properties in Dalian and Tianjin, and they were eventually controlled by him.

From Fourteen Princesses to Yoshiko Kawashima

When I was imprisoned in Qincheng Prison for 15 years because of Yoshiko Kawashima, I made up my mind never to talk about Kawashima again in my life. Liangzi, but I found that she has always been an unavoidable topic in my life. A good Su is the famous Yoshiko Kawashima, which makes me a little embarrassed. Later, I often thought that if my father was still alive and knew where the prescription went, I would definitely bring it back to him.

My mother gave birth to nine children and was obviously the eldest daughter, the 14th in a family of 17 girls. When she was 5 years old, she was brought to Japan by Kawashima and became his adopted daughter. From then on, the fourteenth princess of Prince Su's Mansion became Ryoko Kawashima. I have a brother named Jin Bidong, who was the governor of Heilongjiang Province during the Manchukuo period. Kawasaki Jihu later changed his Chinese name to Jin Bihui. Kawashima doesn't read much, but her handwriting is good and beautiful. Although she didn't learn Russian, she said she was ticklish after staying in Harbin for several months.

In 1927, when Ryoko Kawashima returned to Lushun to get married, I met this 14-year-old sister for the first time.

Of the three daughters my mother gave birth to, Ryoko Kawashima was the most beautiful, the most outgoing, and the most cheerful. When I met her, she always wore men's hair and men's clothes, whether it was a suit, a kimono or a military uniform. I heard that she only wore women's clothes in the early days of "Dongxinglou" in Tianjin. I sometimes called her "brother" in Japanese. She doesn't wear much makeup either. She was so beautiful when she was young that she didn't need makeup.

The person who married Kawashima Ryoko was Kangyurzabu, the second son of the Mongolian prince Babuzabu. After Yuan Shikai died suddenly in 1916, his father supported the Babu Zabu uprising, hoping to achieve "Manchu independence". Buzabu was later killed by Zhang. My father was very loyal and brought the whole family to our home to raise and educate his children. The eldest brother was very ambitious and later went to Mongolia. His second and third children remained in China. His second child, Kangyurzab, graduated from the Japanese Army Military Academy. He particularly liked the prescription, wanted to marry her, and even became lovesick for her.

Ganzhurzab’s mother proposed to my third sister, just tell me. Ryoko Kawasaki was very busy on her wedding day. She always wears men's clothes, but that day she wore a wedding dress, which was very beautiful. All the Japanese in Dalian and Lushun attended the wedding.

Kawashima Ryoko doesn’t like Kangyurzabu very much. Also, who can stay home? Shortly after her marriage, she moved from Lushun to Dalian and left Dalian within a year. Ganzhurzab's sister later married my ninth brother and became my ninth sister-in-law. I heard from Sister-in-law Jiu that Yoshiko ran back to Japan. Later, Kangyurzab found a beautiful woman who gave birth to five children. The strange thing is that when Kangyurzabu got married, Kawashima Ryoko came to attend again. Ganzhurzab couldn't always forget her, but he couldn't control her.

When Sister XVI and I went to Changchun to study, Ryoko Kawashima was also there, living alone in a house. I usually live in the school dormitory and occasionally go to her house to play. Kawasaki hasn't met me a few times, but she loves me because I'm the youngest. Sometimes she takes me on outings, dances, and teaches me how to put on makeup and dress. After my eldest brother found out, he was particularly opposed to me dating her. At that time, she was always with some Japanese soldiers and had a bad reputation. My eldest brother was worried that I would be influenced by her.

On the first day of my study in Japan, Ryoko Kawashima left Changchun first. I went to the station to see her off, and she called me "little one." I don't know why, but I burst into tears. Kawasaki is very famous in Japan. For a while, it was in the newspaper almost every day

In 1941, when I went home, Kawashima Ryoko happened to be in Beijing, and her fame seemed to be even greater. She lives in Dongsijiutiao. I don’t know where she is from. I've only been there once. When I saw her surrounded by suspicious people, there were many famous athletes around her, and they were all afraid of her. They called her "Commander Kim" -. I don't know where she comes from. Ryoko Kawashima asked me to live with her. She might feel like she's old and needs help, but I don't. I'm much better educated than she is. I could tell she wasn't getting along with the people around her, so I tried to avoid her. When she was angry, she broke into my house and lost her temper, asking me to apologize to her. I couldn't help but quarrel with her. She probably didn't expect me to talk back to her. She was so angry that she even hit me with a saber. Dissuaded by her elder brother, she got into the car and drove away.

When I was a child, I didn’t know much about my family. When I grew up, I often thought that if Kawashima's Ryoko had received a good education, she would never have taken this path. Her beauty also ruined her, and the Japanese soldiers followed her ass and acted coquettishly. Kawashima Bobosu also used the beauty of the formula to promote it, win over those soldiers, and use our family's money to buy landmines. It is said that the wave speed of Kawashima made Yoshiko stand on the mountain and ask her, which one do you think we should buy? She just touched it and bought it without asking the price. There is also a "Black Ridge Villa" in Nagano Prefecture, Japan. Kawashima Surang used my family's money to buy it on the mountain. It later became Japan's prescription base.

This is the last time I saw Ryoko Kawashima. In 1945, after the end of the Anti-Japanese War, Kawashima was arrested and secretly shot by the Nationalist Government in 1948. It is said that she wanted to see me before she died, but I didn't go. I don’t think she even realized it, and the people around her didn’t let her go either. This outcome may be best for her.

From Princess to Commoner

Shortly after the Pearl Harbor incident, I was forced to interrupt my college life for two years and return to my old home in Beijing from Japan. This is my first time living in Beijing for a long time, and it is also the most boring time in my memory. Nothing happened. I was suffocated at home. You can visit Wangfujing several times a day.

Because of the turbulent times, I have all

I have never known about money since I was a child. I haven’t touched the money and I don’t have to. When I grow up, I won't have to worry about money. My brothers have bought it. They selected a few good ones from hundreds of samples and brought them back for me to choose from. Why do I need to spend money? When I arrived in the Republic of China, I started keeping accounts. When visiting Dong'an Market, everyone knows the identity of these regular customers, telling them which building this lady belongs to and which mayor's daughter that person is. They all know that I am Su’s little princess. As soon as I left, they said, "You can take whatever you want," and you don't have to take it home. During holidays and old age, when the bills are settled, there are a lot of bills at home, and then I will find someone to settle the accounts, but I don’t know who gave me the money.

I can’t imagine spending the rest of my life like this. In 1948, my brother became one of the many people who left Peiping in a hurry, leaving me 100 yuan, 6 children, an old nanny and her daughter. The livelihood of my family of nine depends entirely on me. I am neither married nor have children. To make a living, I started selling pianos, carpets, sofas, fur coats, gramophones, etc. To make ends meet, I knitted sweaters for the navy, one sweater every three days, but the money I earned was not enough to support my family. Out of this embarrassment, a new regime was born.

After the founding of the People's Republic of China, I did not leave. I think the Communist Party doesn’t like you, or the Kuomintang doesn’t want you. After all, you are Chinese. Later, my elder brother in Hong Kong sent me a sum of money. With the money, I opened a restaurant called Yikang Canteen, which was once a famous restaurant in Beijing. Soon, I married Ma Wanli, a famous flower and bird painter.

In 1956, I was admitted by the Beijing Translation and Translation Agency and assigned to work in Japan. Just when I thought my new life had just begun, one night in early February 1958, a dozen police officers suddenly broke into my house and announced that I was under arrest. Three months later, I was sent to a labor camp.

One day six years later, I was called into the office by the captain when I was at work: "Jin Moyu, after inspection, I decided to sentence you to 15 years in prison!" From today on, I was taken to the famous Qincheng Prison to serve my sentence. I know that all this is due to my unchosen origins and my lingering sister Kawashima Ryoko. In order not to cause trouble to Ma Wanli, I filed for divorce.

In 1973, after 15 years in prison, I finally regained my freedom. I was assigned to raise ducks at Chad Farm in Tianjin. Later, he married Shi Youwei, an old farm expert. In 1979, I wanted to have a job. I don’t think I can do physical work, but I can still do mental work. Soon, three comrades came to the farm to check the situation. I think I am finally an honest citizen.

I was assigned to be a librarian at the Beijing Museum of Literature and History. Those students at Tokyo Women's University managed to find me. They said that I haven't changed at all in decades, and they laughed again and again. Some people don't even believe that I spent 15 years in prison. I declined their invitation to settle in Japan, but I still think so. After all, I am Chinese. Now, I am the only one left among my brothers and sisters. In our generation, men should be virtuous and women should be virtuous. In the next generation, women should be honest and men should be honest. Now these descendants are all named Jin, Lian, Lian, etc. In the past, the emperor gave it eight characters, which can be used for eight generations. These eight characters have been used up, and there will be another eight characters, but no one is sorting them out now. When we arrived in Lianlian, our home disappeared. The once-prominent royal family has completely turned a page in the past for this country.
