What did I do during my volunteer trip to Dunhuang?

Everyone who wants to go on a volunteer trip has N reasons, such as expanding their social circle, exercising their communication skills, traveling somewhere on a budget...

Volunteer Life , closely related to the type, location, and size of the work unit you choose.

If it is a large youth hostel, congratulations, you can still have a greater degree of freedom after being on duty, such as playing Werewolf with the guests, or even going out together. If it is a specialty B&B, the requirements may be higher. Some require foreign language skills, and some need to be good at soft articles or public account operations.

However, if you tell me it is a hotel near the scenic spot. Then I wish you good luck. It is possible that you need to clean N multiple rooms by yourself.

(ps: Never go to a hotel or guesthouse to be a tourist volunteer. They often disguise themselves as B&Bs and get very good treatment. They will give you a private room and air conditioning. But when you get there , I will use you as my aunt)

However, there may be ten children who want to volunteer for travel, but only two or three actually practice it, and among the two or three, I found B&Bs may not be suitable either. If after you come back, you look back on this period of your life and you still feel very satisfied, then this is an experience you have earned.

The youth hostel I chose is next to the Mingsha Mountain Scenic Area in Dunhuang, Gansu. Next, let me share what I did during my volunteer trip.

The life of a volunteer is actually boring. When I first came here, I was very excited and wanted to go everywhere. But in fact, two or three days may be enough to visit local scenic spots. So what do you do with the rest of the time? Sleep...watch TV...read a book...what else?

I always have to find something to do for myself, so I chose to draw... but not on paper...

For example, put the white The boss used oil pastels to draw on the stone. For example, follow a friend who can drive a tricycle to explore the desert. Then I found a piece of wood in the sand that looked like a phoenix claw. I was so shocked that I had a sudden idea to bring it to light again, which became the "Legend of the White Snake with Phoenix Claws".

For another example, a stone comic strip (The Legend of the Seven-Colored Deer) is assembled into a long snake formation and placed at the entrance of the youth hostel. Well, the local pinnacle interpretation of the legend of Dunhuang Mogao Grottoes.

I am extremely grateful to my volunteer friend, Xiao Linzi, a young and energetic young man born in the 2000s who just finished the college entrance examination. He allowed me to attack another field of craftsmanship - seal carving.

He bought a set of seal cutting supplies specially for me.

Every morning, go outside to collect some beautiful wild flowers. Then I prepared flower arrangements and placed them in the lobby of the youth hostel. Suddenly, the lobby turned into a forest style.

If I don’t fight for three days, then I go to the house to uncover the tiles. That’s me.

Thanks to the volunteer sister Xiao Momo for sponsoring the bicycle. Actually, I am not very good at riding a bicycle. I only rode a few kilometers on the landscape avenue of Mingsha Mountain Scenic Area. At the beginning, I almost bumped into an old man. Fortunately, the other party is a good person.

In the early morning, there were few cars on the wide avenue. I rode my bicycle leisurely, listened to songs, blew in the wind, and looked at the scenery. Surrounded by the vast sea and sky, there are rolling sand mountains in the distance.

Finally I understand why so many people like cycling. Because the scenery is indeed very beautiful.

Beat apricot trees, pick up Li Guangxing, and boil apricot skin water. Take Boss Bai for a walk. Desert camping. Go to the entrance of the scenic spot and sell maps (you can sell them for hundreds of yuan in two days). Visit somewhere else.

If you want to start a micro-business, you can. Re-sell local specialties or interesting art. It's just that I don't have the talent for this.

Finally, the most interesting thing is actually the people. If you want to be a travel volunteer, it is recommended to go to some younger groups. It's fun, it won't squeeze you out, and it's a lot of fun to play.
