Hickory nuts

Hickory nuts are also known as small walnuts. Pecans are deciduous trees of the Juglandaceae family. The kernels contain 34-36% fatty oil, of which more than 90% is linoleic acid. In the 28th year of Jiajing reign of the Qing Dynasty, the "Ningguo County Chronicle" recorded: "Ningguo has many mountains and produces pecans, which look like peaches before they are peeled, hence the name." In 1996, Ningguo City was awarded the title of "Hometown of Pecans in China". Ningguo's pecan production area is in the villages at the northern foot of Tianmu Mountain, with Anji Township being the largest, followed by Wanjia, Zhuangcun, Hule and other towns, with a distribution range of 20 towns. It is a traditional forest product of Ningguo. Ningguo pecans are famous for their large grains, thin shells and plump kernels.
