What is there to do in Ya'an?

Bifeng Gorge is a national AAAA tourist attraction. It is named after its lush forests and greenery all year round. Legend has it that it was transformed into the sky-mending hero Nuwa. More than 60 scenic spots in the scenic area are related to Nuwa, which is quite mysterious. Bifeng Gorge Scenic Area is composed of two canyons, the left canyon is 7 kilometers long, and the right canyon is 6 kilometers long. It is V-shaped and is a closed loopable scenic spot. The gorge is 30-70 meters wide, with an altitude of 700-1971 meters. The canyon wall is 100-200 meters high. With green peaks facing each other, the scenery is elegant. It is an excellent place for leisure and vacation to escape the summer heat. Bifengxia Scenic Area includes Huanglong Gorge, Tianxian Bridge, natural bonsai, Thousand Layer Rock Falls, Bailongtan Waterfall, Nuwa Pond, Dishui Plank Road, Yanu Garden and many other scenic spots.

Shangli Town is a famous historical and cultural town in Sichuan, with 2 provincial-level cultural relics protection units and 6 municipal-level ones. In 1982, it was named a "famous historical and cultural town" by Sichuan Province. This was the transit point of the Red Army's Long March northward, and it was also the former Southern Silk Road. Linqiong Ancient Road enters an important post station in Ya'an. The town is surrounded by mountains and rivers, with pastoral hills and wooden houses. It still retains many stilt-style buildings of the Ming and Qing Dynasties. Now it is still a filming location for film and television productions. On June 5, 2013, it was listed as a national AAAA tourist attraction.

Jinfeng Temple was built in the early Tang Dynasty and flourished in the Song Dynasty. It was rebuilt by monk Zongshou in the first year of Yongle in the Ming Dynasty. It is three kilometers west of Ya'an City, facing the Qingyi River in the front, and pillowed by Mengshan Mountain in the back. It looks like a "blue dragon surrounding a phoenix", with a quiet and elegant environment. It is one of the eight historical sites in Ya'an and a tourist attraction.

Mengding Mountain is located in Ya'an City, Sichuan Province, in the southwest of the Sichuan Basin, across the northwest side of the famous mountain city. The mountain is high in the north and low in the south, distributed in a northeast-southwest belt, extending to Ya'an. The mountain is about 10 kilometers long and 4 kilometers wide. Mengding is surrounded by five peaks, shaped like lotus flowers. The highest peak is Shangqing Peak, with an altitude of 1,456 meters. It is located in Mingshan District, 110 kilometers away from Chengdu and 15 kilometers away from Ya'an City. National Highway 318 runs through the scenic area. The two approach roads of the Chengdu-Ya'an Expressway are directly connected to Mengshan Mountain and Baizhang Lake. The transportation is very convenient. It is a national AAAA-level scenic spot.

Baima Spring is located in the dense forest of Shixiazi in Shangli Township, Ya'an City. There is a pool where the spring springs, and there are dragon and horse reliefs engraved on the huge rocks at the bottom of the pool. When the tide breaks, the water in the pool is as calm as a mirror. When the tide comes, the calm water surface ripples. Suddenly, the spring water flows out from the dragon's mouth and gills carved on the stone. It is like throwing beads and splashing jade in the cave, making a sound. When the spring water jumps down one by one and the dragon carved on the boulder reveals its waist, the sound of horse hooves gradually comes from the pool. The sound of horse hooves ranges from far to near, from slow to fast, crisp and broad. The ancients once described this scene: "White Horse Longquan Chao Sacred Well", "Lingquan White Horse Neighing Fragrant Grass".
