Historical evolution of Chenggong district

Chenggong has a long history. In the Paleolithic Age 30,000 years ago, "Kunming people" lived and multiplied here.

During the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, Chenggong belonged to the central part of ancient Yunnan and created a splendid bronze culture.

In the second year of Yuanfeng in the Western Han Dynasty (BC 109), Yizhou County was established in ancient Yunnan, and Chenggong belonged to Guchang County of Yizhou County, which remained unchanged after the Han, Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties.

During the Sui and Tang Dynasties, he paid tribute to Yining County, Zhou Kun. During the period of Nanzhao Dali Kingdom, Chenggong belonged to the top 37 sects, and the ancestors of Yi people built Chenggong City.

After yuanping Dali, six years ago (1256), Xianzong established thousands of tribute households, which belonged to Shanzhan households and governed Chenggong, Zhao Ying, Qielong, Nvdian, Tarot, Luohu, Anjiang, An Peng, Greater Long Wu and Una Mountain. In the 12th year of the Yuan Dynasty (1275), Chenggong County was established for the first time in six cities: Chechenggong, Zhao Ying, Qielong, Nvdian, Tarot, Luohu and Unashan, which was the leading county of Jinning House on Zhongqing Road. As the southern area under the jurisdiction of thousands of households in Chenggong was included in Guihua County, the area was obviously reduced. Soon, Chenggong County was changed to Gong Sheng County.

Ming Hongwu 16 (1383) was rebuilt as Chenggong County, with jurisdiction of 4 Li.

In the 7th year of Emperor Kangxi of Qing Dynasty (1668), the system of naturalized county was abolished, and 2 Li was merged into Chenggong County, and the waste was changed to the township. In August of the same year, Binhe Plain and Santai were plain areas, Orchard and Qixing were orchard areas, and Wang Liang and Haibao were Wang Liang areas. The third district governs 27 townships.

1958, two people's communes, Paradise and Happiness, were established in the whole county, with 19 administrative districts under its jurisdiction. In the same year, 65438+February 10, Chenggong County was abolished and merged into Jinning County as Chenggong People's Commune.

In May 2003, according to the strategic concept of "One Lake with Four Rings" and "One Lake with Four Divisions" put forward by the Yunnan Provincial Party Committee and Government, the area of Longcheng Town, Luo Yang Town, Dounan Town, Wujiaying Township and Dayu Township 160 square kilometers in Chenggong County was determined as the Dongcheng District of modern new Kunming, later called Chenggong New City, and renamed after September 2006.

From June 5438 to February 2007, the organizational system of Longcheng Town, Luoyang Town, Dounan Town and Wujiaying Township under Chenggong County was abolished, and four streets were set up to govern Longcheng Town, Luoyang Town, Dounan Town and Wujiaying Township respectively.

The main leaders of the Municipal Party Committee, the Municipal People's Congress, the Municipal Government and the CPPCC awarded the license and sealed it to the Chenggong District Committee, the District People's Congress, the District Government and the District Political Consultative Conference of Kunming respectively.
