Why is Chengdu called Rongcheng?
Dujiangyan irrigation system
Dujiangyan, located in Guankou Town, Dujiangyan City, Chengdu, is a large-scale water conservancy project built by Li Bing and his son, the prefect of Shu County of Qin State, around 256 BC, which has been in use ever since. Known as "the originator of world water culture". Dujiangyan water conservancy project is the oldest and only water conservancy project in the world, which is characterized by water diversion without dam. It is a famous tourist attraction in China and a world cultural heritage. Dujiangyan has beautiful scenery and many cultural relics, including Fulongguan, Erwangmiao, Anlan Suoqiao, Yuleiguan, Lidui Park and Yuleishan Park.
Mount Qingcheng
Located in the west of Dujiangyan City, Qingcheng Mountain is one of the birthplaces of Taoism and is known as "Qingcheng Mountain is quiet in the world". It is divided into two scenic spots: Qianshan and Houshan. Qian Shan is the main attraction of Qingcheng Mountain. Taoist culture, cultural relics and historical sites are concentrated here, and you can see a palace view almost a hundred steps away, which is classical and mysterious under dense vegetation. The back hill covers a large area and maintains a quite primitive style. There are Taian ancient town and Taian temple at the foot of the mountain. Although the incense in the palace is not as good as that in the front mountain, it is quiet and clean, suitable for leisure hiking. Most tourists go to Qian Shan, and the back mountain is more suitable for climbing.
Jinligu steet
Jinli Ancient Street, located near Wuhou Temple in Chengdu, is a well-known pedestrian mall in Chengdu. It consists of a large number of antique buildings with the architectural style of the late Qing Dynasty, with a large number of bars and restaurants. It is the oldest and most commercial street in the history of Western Shu. Jinli ancient street is filled with the unique noise and randomness of Chengdu. Articles with local characteristics are sold on both sides of the street, such as hand-made wallets and colorful cloth lanterns. Many old Chengdu craftsmen are busy, blowing Tang Hua and kneading dough. In Jinli, after the red lanterns are lit at night, the bars and teahouses are full of people and are very lively. It is said that many super girls and fast girls have sung here.
