When driving to Wutai Mountain, you should always pay attention to different doors from different directions:

From Beijing, Hebei and Tianjin, take the Beijing-Shijiazhuang Expressway and come to Wutai Mountain from the south gate via Fuping County, Hebei Province and Shizui Town, Wutai County, Shanxi Province; Datong and Inner Mongolia take the Universiade Expressway, from the north gate to Wutai Mountain via sha he, Fan Shi, and from the south gate or west gate to Wutai Mountain via Taiyuan, Xinzhou and Wutai County in Xinzhou.

Note: During the tourist season in July and August, it is not allowed to drive in and out of Wutai Mountain. They are only allowed to park their cars in the parking lot at the foot of the mountain and then buy tickets to go up the mountain.

Other ways to reach Wutai Mountain

1, take the train

The nearest railway station to Wutai Mountain is Wutai Mountain Railway Station, which is 48 kilometers away from Wutai Mountain Scenic Area. There are express trains in Taiyuan, Beijing, Yuncheng and Lingqiu. Turn left when you get out of the railway station. There is a red bus in the compound. The fare starts from 25 yuan and goes to Taihuai Town (you can get off at Hongmen Banquet on the way). There will be many drivers at the gate of the railway station. If you are going to Taihuai Town, you can generally talk about carpooling in 25 yuan.

Step 2 take a car

Beijing, Tianjin, Shijiazhuang, Taiyuan, Datong, Dingzhou, Xinzhou and other places have long-distance buses leading to Wutaishan bus station in Taihuai Town, Wutaishan. However, the most conventional route is to take a bus from Taiyuan East Bus Station to Wutai Mountain, which leaves frequently at 6:30- 14:30, and takes about 30 minutes-1 hour.

Step 3 fly

You can also fly to Wutai Mountain. Wutaishan Airport in Xinzhou was officially opened to traffic on February 25th, 20 15. Currently, the routes opened include Shanghai, Tianjin, Haikou, Guilin, Chongqing, Yinchuan, Lanzhou, Jinan, Xiamen, Nanjing and other major domestic cities. In addition, you can go to Taiyuan Wusu Airport first, and then take a bus from Taiyuan East Station to Wutai Mountain.
