In March 2011, the Guiyang Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government decided to build an educational base to promote Confucianism, promote Chinese studies, and inherit traditional culture - Guiyang Confucian School. Confucius Academy is located in Dongjiayan, Huaxi, adjacent to Dajiang Mountain to the east, Huaxi Water to the west, and overlooking the middle section of the Shili River Beach. In July 2011, the project foundation was laid. The Guizhou Provincial Architectural Design and Research Institute designed the building in a grand and majestic style of the Han and Tang Dynasties; Zhongtian Urban Investment Group invested in the construction; the Huaxi District Committee and District Government fully assisted; the water supply, power supply, gas, and telecommunications departments donated funds for the construction. The Confucius Academy building complex is run through a 500-meter central axis, ending at the Wanren Palace wall, passing through Lingxing Gate, crossing the Pan River Bridge, and gradually ascending the steps to Dacheng Square, Dacheng Gate, Dacheng Hall, and ending at Xingtan. There are Kuiwen Pavilion, Xiangxian Temple, and Liuyi Museum on the left, and the Research Institute, Lecture Hall, and Corridor on the right. Its functions integrate sacrificial activities, commemoration, chanting, entertainment, tourism, cultural industry and other functions. It is a temple for inheriting and promoting Confucianism in Guiyang City, and a base for education and opening up new trends.
