Where is Pudong located in Shanghai?
Pudong New Area is a municipal district of Shanghai. Pudong New Area borders Fengxian District and Minhang District to the south, and is separated from Huangpu by Xuhui District, Huangpu District, Hongkou District, Yangpu District and Baoshan District to the west. It faces each other across the Yangtze River and Chongming Island in the north across the Yangtze River.
The district covers an area of ??1,429.67 square kilometers and has a permanent population of 5.1872 million in 2012. It is the most populous administrative district in Shanghai.
In May 2009, the former Nanhui District was merged into Pudong New Area, making Pudong New Area the largest administrative district in Shanghai.
