Prose on local conditions and customs

< < I'm talking about local conditions and customs, and I'm talking about people > >

Before going abroad, I heard many people say that in foreign countries, the relationship between people is indifferent, and there can be no deeper interaction between them. There are only money relationships. Therefore, we can't expect anyone to help each other like we in China.

It is with this idea that I came to Canada.

However, in a short span of several tens of days, a few small things that came across one after another have shaken my concept.

One day, I took the subway in Toronto for the first time, and I was confused about the direction of the trains. When I was looking up the map, a foreigner next to me came over and asked, Can I help you? I told him the location, and he not only pointed out where I was going on the map, but also took me to the platform. I think, if you want to ask for directions in China, you have to find someone who looks honest, or you will not know if you will point me to Java. Before I sang the Internationale, my friends came to help me. If I sing the Internationale, I'm afraid there will be more friends in the world.

In the subway, a child rushed into the carriage just before closing the door, and the door suddenly closed, clamping the child's arm. In an instant, several foreigners in the carriage rushed to the door at the same time, and too many cooks wanted to open the door. At this time, there are many yellow-skinned China people in the carriage, and there is no reflection from beginning to end. They seem to be watching a movie insensibly, which has nothing to do with themselves. What is even more exasperating is that I suddenly heard a Cantonese sentence: "The door won't be closed, so don't panic."

In fact, the subway doors, like elevator doors, will open automatically if there are obstacles, so there is no need to worry. This truth is not only known to China people, but also to everyone. But by instinct, foreigners will rob it at the same time. And the people who claim to help each other, not only do not show concern, but also make a few sarcastic remarks, showing that they have seen the world and crossed the big pier. It seems that the ancestral training of a gentleman who speaks without doing anything is deeply rooted in the hearts of Chinese people. Of course, this kind of thing is common in China, and it is not worth making a fuss about.

Canada is an immigrant country, and its history and reality are related to the exchange and migration of immigrants. It should be said that because of this immigration flow, Canada is full of vitality and vitality, and it has also become one of the developed countries.

It is precisely because of this characteristic of Canada that the great convergence of various ethnic groups has formed a convergence of personality characteristics with various ethnic characteristics.

The openness of America, the reserve of Europe, the roughness of Africa and the meanness of Asia are vividly displayed in Canada.

In human nature, the frankness of America, the euphemism of Europe, the wildness of Africa and the hypocrisy of Asia are equally competitive in Canada.

In a joke with local foreigners, I heard a very unpleasant list: there are four kinds of people who are least welcome in China: blacks, Indians, Indians, Vietnamese and Canadians. Among them, Asians accounted for three. Several new foreigners told me earnestly that they didn't want to have more dealings with China people because "China people don't talk about credibility" and "cheat people".

It goes without saying that black people are tough and rude. There is no need to say that the Indians and Pakistanis are mysterious and treacherous; Vietnamese bandits and pirates have long been despised by the world; But where did the Chinese offend these foreigners?

Perhaps this is the discrimination of white people.

< < [Prose] Changbai Mountain Tianchi > >

chinese national geography is a landscape beauty contest. Mountains and rivers can't be said in one sentence or two. The magazine with 148 pages in the past increased to 55 pages here in the 1th issue of 25. Thanks to "chinese national geography", adding pages without increasing prices is still 16 yuan. The magazine was out of stock soon after it came out. Beijing is one of the earliest cities in China. It is said that more than 8 pieces have been photographed online, and many readers are angry that they can't buy magazines. chinese national geography issued a general post on its website forum with the title "I hope everyone will calm down".

chinese national geography lists 15 groups of "China's most beautiful", in the order of ranking: China's ten most beautiful mountains, China's five most beautiful lakes, China's five most beautiful deserts, China's three most beautiful Yadan, China's five most beautiful urban areas, China's ten most beautiful canyons, China's six most beautiful tourist caves, China's eight most beautiful coasts, China's six most beautiful waterfalls, China's six most beautiful glaciers and China's most beautiful.

The reason why I want to copy down this list in turn is that I find that, for some unknown reason, there are no rivers on the list. Maybe with the canyon, there is no need to talk about rivers. For some years, maybe only the Yarlung Zangbo River is clean, maybe the river can only be seen in sections like canyons, so it's hard to say on the whole.

In terms of the most beautiful mountains, Changbai Mountain in Northeast China was shortlisted, but it failed to enter the top ten most beautiful mountains. It is gratifying that Changbai Mountain has not entered the top ten most beautiful mountains, but Tianchi Lake in Changbai Mountain has entered the most beautiful Great Lakes. Changbai Mountain was not selected, but the Tianchi Lake in Changbai Mountain is at the highest point of Changbai Mountain. No one can move it to the flat. If you want to see Tianchi Lake, you have to come up to Changbai Mountain.

Looking through this issue of chinese national geography, there are many words about the famous landscapes or introductions, comments or appreciation. The magazine also invited famous poets and writers Shu Ting, Yu Jian and Liu Liangcheng to write articles for Gulangyu Island in Xiamen, Suzhou Old Town and the hinterland of Gurbantonggut Desert respectively. However, even here in Tianchi, Changbai Mountain, around the title "Tianchi in Changbai Mountain: Calm after Fury", there is nothing but two pictures, 59 words of expert comments and more than 22 words of explanations. It's depressing to use a popular word now. Is there nothing to say in Changbai Mountain Tianchi? But on second thought, I'm happy again. It's not easy to climb Changbai Mountain in a year. It's been more than two thousand years. There are few literati here to sing poems and write poems, and no emperors will come here to worship the heavens and worship Zen. Although the Qing emperor canonized Changbai Mountain as a sacred mountain, he can only build a temple in Wendeheng Mountain, Jilin City to worship. There is no ready-made language for people, from nature to humanity.

There are two pictures of Tianchi Lake in Changbai Mountain in the magazine, one is a summer scene, and the other is a winter scene, which shows that the editor used his mind. Climbing to the top of Changbai Mountain to see Tianchi Lake in winter, few people can do it, and most people have no chance. A friend went there in winter, and after many years, he was very happy, so he wrote a travel note about it.

Like many pictures of Tianchi Lake in Changbai Mountain, chinese national geography has two pictures of Tianchi Lake, one is dotted with wild flowers, and the other is covered with snow, but both of them are beautiful and sunny. The water in Tianchi Lake is really calm as glass. Too many such pictures will make people misunderstand, as if Baishan Tianchi is always so good-tempered. In fact, it is not easy to see Tianchi in winter, and it may not be possible to see Tianchi in summer. In July, 21, I took a trip to Changbai Mountain and drove into the mountain gate. It was already dusk, and the sky that looked short on the mountain was rainy. The driver was very kind and spent a long time on the mountain. Some experiences, he reminded me, should hurry up and go to Tianchi to see it. If it rains, it will not be easy to clear up for a day or two. The driver said that not long ago, some important people from the country came and stayed in the mountains for a few days. The weather was always bad and finally nothing was seen. Listen to the driver and go straight to Tianchi. Sure enough, when you get to Tianchi, it's not long, people are shivering with cold, the mountain wind is becoming more and more fierce, and the dark clouds are coming from the opposite side of Tianchi, and the Tianchi is swallowed up. On this twilight evening, I saw the Tianchi Lake, which was completely different from my impression. On the top of the 16 th peak around Tianchi Lake, the probe looked down, and I couldn't see the calm and soft beauty that people said and pictures showed in the past. At present, Tianchi Lake is gloomy and motionless, as if brewing a conspiracy, as if to reach out and drag people down, which makes people feel gloomy, ferocious, horrible and terrible.

I have a copy of The Range Rover of Changbai Mountain, published by Jilin People's Publishing House in August, 199. In the book, on the one hand, the Manchu emperors banned Changbai Mountain from people's entry, and on the other hand, they sent people to look for the main peak of Changbai Mountain. In 1644, after Fu Lin, the ancestor of Qing Dynasty, entered Beijing, he honored Changbai Mountain as the "God of Changbai Mountain". In the 16th year of Kangxi (AD 1677), on April 15th, Aisingiorro Xuanye ordered the minister Jue Luowu Mune and his party to pay their respects in Changbai Mountain, and "look at it in detail so as to make sacrifices". In the summer of the same year, Wu Mu Na and others boarded Changbai Mountain, arrived in Longtan, that is, Tianchi, and returned to Beijing in the autumn to give a lecture. However, according to textual research, Wu Mu Na didn't really see the main peak of Changbai Mountain during his visit. Li Tingyu, a Qing dynasty, said in The Record of Changbai Mountain: "In the thirteenth year of Kangxi, Wu Muna visited Changbai Mountain, only to the northeast of Baishan in Nayin." Li Tingyu's "Thirteen Years of Kangxi" here is open to question, but he should be right to say that Wu Mune did not reach the main peak of Baishan. Although Wu Mune also saw a pool of water, there was more than one pool in Changbai Mountain. "The Range Rover of Changbai Mountain in Ancient and Modern Times" contains a submission written to the emperor after Wu Mune paid a visit to Changbai Mountain. The passage about Tianchi Lake in Changbai Mountain reads as follows: "There is a pool on the top of the mountain, surrounded by five peaks, standing by the water, clear water, rippling, and no vegetation in Chi Pan." People who know Changbai Mountain know that there are not only five peaks around the Tianchi Lake at the highest point of Baishan Mountain. If what Wu Mune saw is really the Tianchi Lake in Changbai Mountain, he just concealed the other eleven peaks. Anyway, although Wu Mune didn't mean to, he cheated the emperor.

Tianchi Lake in Changbai Mountain is about 4.5 kilometers long from north to south and 3.5 kilometers wide from east to west, with a lake area of 9.8 square kilometers, a waterside perimeter of 13.6 kilometers, an elevation of 2,185 meters, an average water depth of 24 meters, a maximum water depth of 373 meters, and a total water storage capacity of about 2 billion cubic meters. It is the highest crater lake and the deepest lake in China. This is Jilin Scenery published by Jilin Literature and History Publishing House in October 1985. Some people say that throwing a building into the Tianchi Lake in Baishan is like throwing it into a matchbox. In fact, it is even bigger than this. Baishan Tianchi has nurtured rivers, which are the source of Tumen River, Yalu River and Songhua River. Perhaps it can be said that the small swimming fish in Tumen River, the ordinary huts along Yalu River and the soybeans and sorghum along Songhua River are all raised by Baishan Tianchi. In the winter of 25, I thought it was a warm winter at first, and I really hope it is a warm winter. I hope there will be a lot of flowing water in Tianchi Lake in Changbai Mountain, and use its clean water to wash away the turbidity in the rivers.

< < "Bamboo Bed Array" in the streets of Wuhan on summer nights > >

After the summer solstice in July, the hot summer night drove Wuhan citizens out of their homes, and they had to put bamboo beds on both sides of the street to sleep out. The dense bamboo beds are next to each other. Old people, children, young people, young women and even girls are lying on bamboo beds, spending one night after another. Northerners or foreigners see young women and girls sleeping in the street in shorts and skirts, which is greatly puzzled and fresh. However, the locals are used to it.

Wuhan is one of the three famous "furnace cities" in China, with the temperature as high as 4 degrees Celsius in summer. The unbearable heat lasted for about two months, which made it form a unique folk custom "bamboo bed array" in Wuhan.

2. Eating zongzi and dragon boat racing?

Eating zongzi and dragon boat racing are the customs in many parts of China. However, this custom comes from commemorating Qu Yuan, which makes it even worse in Hubei, Qu Yuan's hometown. ?

Every Dragon Boat Festival on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month, dragon boat races and rice dumplings are held all over Hubei. As long as there are lakes, rivers and rivers, people will trim or clean up the dragon boats early. From the first day to the fifth day, the dragon boats will be launched one after another. One after another, "Huanglong", "White Dragon", "Red Dragon" and "Qinglong" will cut the waves, and the arrows will go forward, and the gongs, drums, shouts and cheers will be loud. People watching the dragon boat races on both sides of the river will be dark. ?

It is said that after Qu Yuan's death in Guluo River, Zigui, a native of his hometown, had a dream that Qu Yuan was thin, so he made angular corn (zongzi) with rice wrapped in bamboo leaves and put it into the river by dragon boat. Because the aquatic animals belong to the dragon tube, they thought it was the corn sent by the Dragon King, so they dared not eat it. This can be eaten by Qu Yuan. This is the origin of dragon boat racing and eating zongzi.

3. Jingzhou Flower Drum?

Jingzhou Flower Drum was originally a "flower drum along the door" and a grass-cutting yangko for the poor folk to beg for a living. This kind of "flower drum" is that one person beats the drum and sings the lyrics, while several people chime in. ?

In recent decades, Jingzhou Flower Drum has evolved into a unique local flower drum drama. In 1955, an old artist collected and recorded all the vocals of Huagu Opera, sorted out the first complete set of Huagu music score, and boldly used ethnic instruments such as erhu, banhu, pipa, dulcimer, bamboo flute and suona to accompany Huagu Opera, which ended the history of "singing with one voice and simply accompanying with gongs and drums". Nowadays, Jingzhou Huagu Opera is full of strong local sentiment, and its singing is melodious, sweet and pleasing to the ear. There are dozens of plays, such as Family Case-solving and Water Hometown Love, which are based on the life of Huxiang and show the style of Huxiang. In the folk, men, women and children walk, work and hum Hua Gutiao from time to time, which also has great "magic". Someone said, "Hey, hey, you don't have to take medicine if you are sick!" "I don't sing the flower drum opera when I work, and I have no strength all over." When you come to Jingzhou, you can see the radio that primary school students are carrying after school. In the car and in the counter of the shop, all the plays are Jingzhou Flower Drum Opera.

4. Tianmen's "Three Bangs Drum"

In Tianmen and mian yang, because of the low terrain and plenty of water, the people suffered from floods in the past. In order to make a living, they left their hometown, shouldered the "three-stick drum" and traveled everywhere. Many people traveled from Hubei to southwest China, Indian, Iranian, Central and Western Europe. There are also some people who go to the Philippines and other Southeast Asian countries via Guangdong.

They sing wherever they carry the "three-stick drum", and people call them "gypsies in China".

5. Tongshan drum?

According to legend, Tongshan Drum originated in the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, which is a kind of traditional folk art in which farmers work in the field and sing with the accompaniment of Tongshan Drum. ?

The shape of the mountain drum is like a small hall drum used in traditional Chinese opera, and its size is slightly smaller. There are iron rings on both sides of the drum body, tied with cowhide belts or ribbons, which are convenient for the drummer to hang on his chest. When singing, the drummer holds a skewer in his right hand and holds the bottom of the drum in his left hand, and adjusts different timbres with his fingers. An excellent drummer can generally play dozens of drums with very different rhythms and different emotions. The sound of the mountain drum is bright and crisp, and you can hear it for miles away.

Tongshan drums are mainly divided into two categories: Mountain Digging Drum and Field Planting Drum. In addition, there is a kind of "Mountain gongs and drums". This kind of "Mountain gongs and drums" not only has a mountain drum on the drummer's back, but also has a bronze gong hanging around his waist, with a clock in his left hand and a skewer in his right hand.

The tunes of the mountain drum are closely combined with the local language, with strong rhythm, high-pitched and passionate melody, simple and warm, and rich local color, which is an art form that enlivens the labor scene. In 1988, in the Hubei Folk Music, Dance and Television Competition, Tongshan County adapted the program "Xiyunhe" and won the Silver Cup.

6. What are the old habits of Chongyang people?

Chongyang county in southern Hubei has beautiful scenery and charming scenery. Due to being far away
