Where is Wanzhou Island?
Wanzhou Island is an island in Zhuzhou County, Hunan Province.
Wanzhou Island is located at the southwest end of Longchuan Town, Lukou District, Zhuzhou City, with a length of 1,8 meters and a width of 8 meters. It is adjacent to Hengdong County, and is the largest river island in Zhuzhou and one of the four major islands on the Xiangjiang River. During the Three Kingdoms period, this was the county government of Xiangxi County, and there were walls, so the floods in the city could not be flooded. There is still a place called the city, which is the highest place on the island.
there are more than 1,1 people on Wanzhou island, most of whom are surnamed Zhou. The genealogy records that they migrated from Ganzhou, Jiangxi Province in the late Yuan and early Ming Dynasties to escape the war. There are also Zhoujia ancestral halls and blue brick houses on the island, which have been in disrepair for a long time. The residents of the island have been fishing for generations. After the "ten-year fishing ban" in Xiangjiang River, the fishermen went ashore, but almost everyone on the island had a boat, which was their means of transportation. It is also the origin of Wang 1, peppers, and peanuts and radishes are also well known.
Because of the diversion of Hongshiji, the water on this island is wide and gentle near Zhuzhou. Before the 199s, it was possible to cross the river on foot for more than half of the year. The wide beach is full of fine silver sand, glittering in the moonlight, attracting young people from far and near to barbecue and play guitar, and wearing white shirts will not get dirty. The river on the east side of Hengdong is relatively deep, which is suitable for large-scale shipping.
Legend of Wanzhou Island:
It is said that Zhouzhou was changed from a carp. From the aerial view, it looks like a carp with its head facing downstream and its tail facing upstream. Earlier, there were eighteen big mulberry trees in Zhoutou, which were the whiskers of carp. There are Wukesong cypress trees at the end of the continent, which is the tail of carp; On the right bank of the continent, there is a big camphor tree that needs four or five people to hug. It is the fin of carp. At that time, Du Fu tied the boat to this tree when he landed.
It is said that there is a golden bell in the pond. A paipai guest bought a spider with a big hat and wanted the spider to spin silk and hoist it out. As a result, the spider died and the golden bell fell into the pond again. Up to now, whenever the water rises, the pool will be buzzing and can be heard from a distance. And the carp in Zhouzhou thrives in the middle. Over the years, the larvae laid by carp turned into gravel and piled up into sandbars.
