Hefei belongs to the relationship of South Zhili. At that time, the jurisdiction of Nanzhili included Anhui, Jiangsu and Shanghai. After the Qing dynasty entered the customs, Beijing was determined as the capital, and Anhui province was divided into southern Anhui administrative region and northern Anhui administrative region. At that time, there were nine administrative regions in China. Administrative regions and provinces enjoy the same status and are basically equal to provinces.

New China 1952, the administrative office of northern Anhui merged with the administrative office of southern Anhui to form new Anhui Province. Now that the two companies have merged, there can only be one provincial capital. From 65438 to 0952, Hefei became the capital of Anhui and Anqing became an ordinary prefecture-level city. In fact, except Anqing, Baoding in Hebei and Kaifeng in Henan subsequently lost their provincial capitals. The reasons are complicated, the times are changing, and the economic development model is also changing. In order to adapt to the new trend, the provincial capital will naturally change.

Both separate management and combined management are aimed at better managing the country and benefiting the people. Division and integration in history cannot change the great unity of the people of China.
