Food: Dai cuisine enjoys a high reputation among Yunnan cuisines. The residents of Xishuangbanna are mainly Dai. Dai cuisine is mainly glutinous rice, sour and barbecued meat and aquatic products. Wild cultivated plants are used as spices and taste sour, bitter and spicy. Barbecuing is one of the most common methods of making Dai cuisine.
