Tourist guide to Huili ancient city
1, Bell and Drum Tower:
The Bell and Drum Tower, also known as the "Lingxiao Building", was built in the 12th year of Qing Yongzheng, presided over by Li Zhizhou at that time, and was renovated twice during the Qianlong period. Xianfeng was destroyed in ten years, leaving only the pedestal. In the third year of Guangxu, an official of Huili described a turret in the royal garden and built it according to the map.
China's classical architecture has always paid attention to geomantic omen. Before the Qing Dynasty, there were no bell and drum towers. In order to make up for the "emptiness of the central axis" in traditional architectural culture, this luxurious building was specially built on the cross street in the city center, forming a four-sided symmetrical pattern centered on the bell and drum tower.
2. Yingzhou Park:
Yingzhou Park is located on the north side of the west gate of the ancient city, formerly known as "Zhou Xiaoying". Founded in the early years of Guangxu in Qing Dynasty, it has a history of 100 years by 2005. In old Zhou Xiaoying, the whole garden art was based on ponds, hence the name. There is an arch bridge and a He Huan Pavilion in the pool. Ten steps west of the pool is the ancient city wall, so the main cultural landscapes are distributed on the east side of the pool.
The whole garden layout design is modeled after the northern part of Guihu Park in Xindu. Although the gardens in Zhou Xiaoying are small, they are densely distributed with winding paths leading to secluded places, and pavilions, terraces and pavilions have their own characteristics. In the Qing Dynasty and the early years of the Republic of China, it was once the garden of the guild halls of five northern provinces.
3. Hu Family Courtyard:
Hu Jia Courtyard is located in Hakka Lane, Huili Ancient City, covering an area of more than 460 square meters. The courtyard sits south to north, showing a compound quadrangle layout. The whole courtyard consists of gate, screen door, front hall, lobby and wing. The whole building is a double-eave, single-eave, mountain-hanging, roof-piercing civil structure. The gate is a gatehouse, with the Sumitomo wall base built of brick, the lintel decorated with carved patterns of eight treasures, and sparrows between beams and columns carved. The main hall is three rooms wide and two rooms deep, and the wing is two rooms wide and one room deep. Doors and windows are simple and practical.
