1. Bell and Drum Towers
The Bell and Drum Towers are the landmark buildings of Xi'an. They are located in the city center. The Bell Tower and the Drum Tower face each other from east to west. When you come to Xi'an, you must experience the "morning bells and evening drums". Go up to the bell tower from the circular underground passage, knock the Ming Dynasty iron bell on the northwest corner with your own hands, and look around amid the melodious bells. The ancient buildings on West Street opposite Crowds gather, and the red tiles and cornices look like a fairyland. Take a look at the four main streets of east, west, north and south at the Bell Tower, and maybe you will understand Xi'an better. You can enjoy the scenery at the bell tower during the day, and you have to see the clock tower in the dark at night. The bell tower at night, illuminated by various lights, is solemn, gorgeous and mysterious.
After enjoying the night view of the Bell Tower, it is best to go shopping in the Muslim Street behind the Drum Tower. This is the most famous snack street in Xi'an, where you can find Jia San Guan soup dumplings, fried rice with red pickled cabbage, special small Zhen cakes, and Pingwa barbecue. A snack you can’t stop eating.
2. Academy Gate
Go south from the Bell Tower and turn east when approaching the South Gate to reach the Academy Gate Ancient Culture Street. Looking up at the ancient tall archway at the street entrance, and then walking onto the wide and flat bluestone road, you enter an antique world full of curiosities. The entire street is made up of all antique buildings, and every shop has all kinds of weird things. In addition to the Four Treasures of the Study, calligraphy and painting, bronzes, and jade, there are also many folk arts, such as shadow puppets, paper-cutting, hand-knitting, etc. There are many stalls on the roadside selling a dark musical instrument that is shaped like an egg and has holes in it: Xun.
3. City Wall
Many assumptions about Xi’an are derived from the city wall. Touching the ancient mottled wall tiles under the afterglow of the setting sun will give you the sense of historical vicissitudes. Taken into another time and space. There is a rippling blue moat on the outside of the city wall, and beyond the moat is the only "city-encircling park" in the country. If you take a walk in the Huancheng Park in the evening, you can fully feel the leisurely life style of Xi'an citizens. Maybe you can also meet a few old Shaanxi people singing Qin opera, which will be a real feast for your ears!
4. Mausoleum of the First Emperor of Qin Terracotta Warriors
The Terracotta Warriors and Horses of Qin Shihuang’s Mausoleum: As the eighth wonder of the world and a must-visit place for political leaders from all over the world, I don’t need to spend too much time introducing it. Recently, the third excavation of the Qin Terracotta Warriors Pit No. 1 has begun. Will the legendary "painted warriors", "strategist warriors" and "green-faced warriors" appear? More mysterious surprises are waiting for you to explore. After visiting the Terracotta Warriors and Horses, you can also go to nearby Lishan Mountain, Huaqing Pool and other places, as you like.
5. Famen Temple
Famen Temple: A pagoda was built because of the relics, and a temple was built because of the pagoda. As a Buddhist holy place, it is also worth a visit. In May of this year, the 148-meter-high Namaste Relic Pagoda of Famen Temple, which houses the world's only Buddha's finger relic, was just completed. To pay homage to the Buddha's finger relics will be a purification and cleansing of the body and mind.
6. Huashan
Huashan: It has long been famous for its "precipitous" reputation and the legend of "Huashan Sword Discussing". There is also a direct bus from the train station, and the journey takes about 2 Hour. For a one-day tour, you can take the cable car directly to the North Peak. If you have a certain foundation in mountain climbing and want to challenge yourself, it is recommended to spend 4-7 hours (depending on your personal strength) to climb from the foot of the mountain to the North Peak step by step, and then to the East Peak. Watch the sunrise at the top of the mountain. Hikers may feel like they are in a martial arts novel as they walk through the mountain trails shaded by lush branches.
