1. On January 10, 2023, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism officially issued an announcement identifying 15 tourist resorts as national-level tourist resorts. Among them, Yueyang Dongting Lake Tourist Resort is among them, the only one in Hunan Province included in this announcement.

2. The resort is rich in vacation resources. It has the coastline of Nanhu Lake and Dongting Lake, the 4A-level scenic spot Sheng'an Temple, the 3A-level scenic spot Yueyang Flower World, Dongting Lake Town, and national cultural heritage sites. A number of high-quality scenic spots such as the centenary church school site, the national second-level Yueyang Municipal Museum, the Yellow Tea Culture Museum, and the Dongting Lake Leisure Town echo the national 5A-level tourist attraction Yueyang Tower-Junshan Island.

3. The resort has complete basic supporting facilities. It has built a three-circle cycling trail and supporting tourist center around Nanhu with a total investment of 3.47 billion yuan, and the Accor Pullman Hotel in France with a total investment of 1 billion yuan. , completed the construction of 20 supporting roads with a total mileage of 26.9 kilometers and a total investment of 1.32 billion yuan, achieving seamless connection between the Nanhu Scenic Area and Yueyang City.
