One-day tour guide from Shanghai to Suzhou

Suzhou is famous for its gardens. There are small places like Humble Administrator's Garden, Lingering Garden and Lion Grove, each with its own characteristics, and it is not far from Shanghai, so you can go back and forth in one day. There are many flights from Shanghai to Suzhou, and the time is fast, about one hour. Depart in the morning and arrive around 9 o'clock.

1. Start from Humble Administrator's Garden. Humble Administrator's Garden is divided into three parts: East, Middle and West. The central part is the best place to show Suzhou gardens, and the pavilions are very chic. I like the framing technique of Suzhou gardens. It really looks like a painting hanging on the wall. I met some rain when I went there, which made the garden look different. Suggest 2-3 hours.

2. Next to Humble Administrator's Garden is Suzhou Garden Museum. The new Suzhou Garden Museum is adjacent to Humble Administrator's Garden and Loyalty Palace of Taiping Heavenly Kingdom. The new museum displays Suzhou gardens in various forms, such as painting, model and projection TV, so that visitors can intuitively and easily understand the characteristics, history and culture of Suzhou gardens. The new museum consists of five parts: Preface Museum, Garden History Museum, Garden Art Museum, Garden Cultural Center and Garden Heritage Museum. Suggested 1 hour.

3. From Suzhou Garden Museum, the road to the south is Lion Forest. The whole garden features a rockery shaped like a lion. The master of the previous generation was Pei Jia, and the buildings and scenery in the park were relatively compact. There are many people on holidays. Suggested 1 hour.

4. Eat at Pingjiang Road at noon and recommend Li Gengtang (Pingjiang Road Store). According to the old house of a wealthy businessman named Pan in ancient times, the restaurant is quiet in the middle of the noise, and the overall dining environment is antique, like crossing. The side dish system is adopted here, and an appointment is required. Subang cuisine is particularly elegant and exquisite. Soft-shelled turtle noodles and sweet and sour mandarin fish have a good reputation, so you can listen to pingtan while eating.

5. After eating, you can visit Pingjiang Road. Pingjiang Road Historic District is located in the south of Humble Administrator's Garden with a history of more than 2,500 years. This is a well-preserved ancient block. The west is separated from Guanqian Street by a lane, but it has a completely different quiet and quaint atmosphere. It can be said that it is an "ancient town" that does not accept tickets. It's very comfortable to look at the building and stroll around and eat snacks.

The whole block is centered on Pingjiang Road, which is a path along the river with a total length of about 1.6km. There are Hangqiao Lane, Daru Lane, Weidaoguan Lane, Zhongzhangjia Lane, Daxinqiao Lane and other alleys on the east and west sides, especially there are many water lanes in the east, which are parallel to the river street and have the characteristics of Jiangnan water town. Slow down and set foot on the stone road, next to the lush camphor trees, there are stone fences by the river, and there are stone tables and benches by the road.

6. Finally, go to Guanqian Street to purchase some Suzhou specialties and send them home, and return to Shanghai at night. Guanqian Street is located in the center of Suzhou, not far from Suzhou Railway Station. It is an old commercial street and became a street in Qing Dynasty. Now it has been transformed into a pedestrian street, about 800 meters long. Together with eunuch lane, Bifengfang and other roads radiated by it, it is a famous snack street and commercial street in Suzhou, equivalent to Confucius Temple in Nanjing and Chenghuang Temple in Shanghai. The first thing to visit Qianjie is its delicious food, with centuries-old shops gathering.
