How long is the longest stay for a trip from the Mainland to Taiwan?
Measures for the Administration of Travel by Mainland Residents to the Taiwan Area
Article 1 is to regulate the travel of mainland residents to the Taiwan Area, in accordance with the "Measures for the Administration of Travel by Chinese Citizens to the Taiwan Area" and the "Travel Agency Management Regulations" , specially formulated these measures.
Article 2 Mainland residents’ travel to Taiwan (hereinafter referred to as travel to Taiwan) must be organized by a travel agency designated to operate mainland residents’ travel business to Taiwan (hereinafter referred to as the tour agency), and the entire group travels in the form of a team Tourists must conduct group activities during their stay in Taiwan.
Article 3 The tour group organization shall be designated by the National Tourism Administration in conjunction with relevant departments from the approved travel agencies that franchise outbound tourism business, and shall be announced by the Cross-Strait Tourism Exchange Association. Except for designated tour operators, no unit or individual is allowed to operate tourism business for mainland residents to Taiwan.
Article 4 Travel agencies in Taiwan that receive mainland residents traveling to Taiwan (hereinafter referred to as reception agencies) shall be announced by the Cross-Strait Tourism Exchange Association after being confirmed by the relevant mainland departments in conjunction with the National Tourism Administration.
Article 5: Mainland residents traveling to Taiwan are subject to quota management. The quota will be confirmed by the National Tourism Administration in conjunction with relevant departments and then distributed to the tour operators.
Article 6: Before organizing mainland residents to travel to Taiwan, a tour group agency must sign a contract and establish a cooperative relationship with the host agency.
Article 7 The organizing club must select a team leader for each team. After the tour leader passes the training and assessment, the local tourism bureau will apply to the National Tourism Administration for a tour escort certificate for traveling to Taiwan. The organizing agency must ask the host agency to send someone to accompany you throughout the process.
Article 8 The organizing agency must require the host agency not to guide or organize tourists to participate in activities involving gambling, pornography, drugs, etc.
Article 9 The organizing agency must require the host agency to arrange activities in strict accordance with the team schedule stipulated in the contract; the schedule shall not be changed without the consent of both travel agencies and tourists.
Article 10 Mainland residents must hold a valid Taiwan Travel Permit for Mainland Residents (hereinafter referred to as the "Pass") and a travel endorsement (endorsement prefixed with L, hereinafter referred to as the endorsement) to travel to Taiwan.
Article 11 Mainland residents traveling to Taiwan must register with designated tour operators and apply for a "Pass" and endorsement from the exit and entry administration department of the public security bureau in the place where they have their registered permanent residence.
Article 12 Tour groups to Taiwan must present the "List of Tour Groups for Mainland Residents to Taiwan" to enter and leave the country as a group through open ports on the mainland.
Article 13 If a tour group has decided to enter the mainland in separate groups before leaving the country, the organizing agency should register in advance with the relevant entry-exit border inspection station or the provincial public security and border department.
If a tour group member is unable to enter the mainland with the group or cannot return to the mainland as scheduled due to emergencies, the organizer should promptly report to the relevant entry-exit border inspection station or provincial public security and border defense department.
Article 14 Tourists should return on time and are not allowed to stay illegally. When tourist participants illegally stay, the tour group organization must report to the public security organs and tourism administrative departments in a timely manner, and assist in the repatriation and review of the stranded persons.
Article 15 Travel agencies that violate the provisions of these Measures will be punished by the tourism administrative department in accordance with the "Travel Agency Management Regulations". Any violation of other relevant national laws and regulations by the group organizer and tourist participants will be dealt with by the relevant departments in accordance with the law.
Article 16 The National Tourism Administration, the Ministry of Public Security, and the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council are responsible for the interpretation of these Measures.
Article 17 These Measures shall come into effect on the date of promulgation.
