Does gdp include tourism revenue?
GDP refers to gross domestic product, which is an indicator to measure a country's economic aggregate. As a service industry, the income generated by tourism is also included in GDP. According to the national economic accounting system issued by the National Bureau of Statistics, tourism income belongs to service industry income and should be included in GDP. The development of tourism plays a positive role in promoting economic growth, increasing employment and improving people's livelihood, so the income of tourism is also regarded as an important part of national economic development.
Tourism revenue includes not only direct tourism expenses such as tickets for tourist attractions, hotel accommodation and catering consumption, but also indirect expenses such as transportation, shopping and entertainment related to tourism.
