Why can’t I go to South Korea in 2023?
As for South Korea’s entry policy, I believe many friends should know that the entry policy has been adjusted and changed, and the issuance of tourist visas will resume on June 1. But just today, on May 23, 2022, South Korea made adjustments to its entry policy. Please see below for the details.
1. Adjusted entry policy. Starting from May 23, 2022, all passengers entering South Korea (except exempt passengers) must hold a paper copy of the nucleic acid test report (PCR negative) within 48 hours before departure. Confirmation) or a rapid antigen test negative report (RAT, AG, Antigen) issued by a professional testing institution (hospital, etc., home self-testing is not recognized) within 24 hours before departure.
1. The sampling time must be used as the criterion. The nucleic acid test report must be issued in Korean or English.
2. The inspection item column of the nucleic acid test report issued in other languages ??must be in Korean. or issued in English. The name on the report must be consistent with that on the passport.
2. Necessary materials for nucleic acid testing
1. Name
2. Testing method
3. Test results
4. Issuance date
5. Date of birth (or passport number, ID card number)
6. Testing date
7. Name of testing agency
3. South Korea’s testing and epidemic prevention process
1. People who have been vaccinated in South Korea must register and be certified in advance in the quarantine information pre-registration system Q-code to avoid entry quarantine. Those who have received WHO-approved vaccines in countries other than South Korea will be exempted from entry quarantine after being registered and certified in the system.
2. Passengers with valid Q-code declaration results do not need to fill in the "Special Quarantine Declaration Form" and "Health Status Declaration Form". Passengers without Q-code approved results are still classified as Korean passengers and long-term passengers. Non-Korean tourists who are staying will be quarantined at home for 7 days, and non-Korean tourists who are visiting for a short period of time will be quarantined in a centralized quarantine for 7 days (at their own expense), except for those who hold a quarantine-free consent form issued by the Korean government.
4. Can be exempted from submitting nucleic acid test report (not applicable if body temperature exceeds 37.5 degrees):
1. Infants and young children under 6 years old as of the date of entry (limited to traveling companions) All persons submit PCR negative confirmation certificates).
2. Passengers holding a quarantine-free consent form issued by the Korean government.
3. Passengers who are refused entry to the destination country after departing from South Korea will be repatriated.
4. Based on the date of departure, Korean passengers who have been diagnosed within 10 to 40 days before departure (only confirmed by PCR test and other gene amplification tests, excluding those with positive antigen test) and have completed treatment , foreigners who have been in Korea for a long time.
Korean passengers traveling to South Korea on China Eastern Airlines flight MU5041 on May 20 and May 27 or non-Korean spouses and immediate family members (excluding brothers and sisters) of Koreans must provide English documents within 48 hours before departure. If you have received a nucleic acid test report, you must still present the nucleic acid test report within 48 hours to check in. Non-Korean spouses and immediate relatives must provide proof of kinship.
In 2023, South Korea has actually set up layers of obstacles for Chinese tourists to travel to South Korea and short-term visas. On January 2, the South Korean government suspended the issuance of short-term visas from China to South Korea and suspended flights from China. The flight increase plan also requires flights from mainland China to enter only through Incheon Airport, and adopts discriminatory entry restrictions against Chinese passengers.
What is even more irritating is that after Chinese tourists enter the country, each one is given a small yellow card, hung around his neck, and checked into a hotel with Korean personnel. This is simply a disservice to us Chinese tourists. Discrimination and insult are intolerable to us.
On January 10, in response to South Korea’s discriminatory entry restrictions against China, relevant Chinese authorities took reciprocal measures. The Chinese Embassy in South Korea suspended the issuance of some short-term visas for South Korean citizens to China. .
Flights have been reduced and short-term visas have been suspended, which means that South Korea has closed its door to the Chinese tourism market. This will inevitably cause a depression in the South Korean tourism market. Tourist attractions cannot make money and the transportation industry is stagnant. Travel agency staff have no work and hotels are closed. This is the retribution the Korean tourism industry deserves. Major domestic travel agencies, airlines, duty-free shops and cosmetics companies in South Korea are all worried about the current situation, shouting that the cold winter of South Korea's tourism industry is coming.
Legal basis: "Exit and Entry Administration Law of the People's Republic of China" Article 9 Chinese citizens shall apply for passports or other travel documents in accordance with the law when leaving or entering the country.
Chinese citizens traveling to other countries or regions also need to obtain a visa or other entry permit for the country of destination. However, this does not apply unless the Chinese government has signed a mutual visa exemption agreement with the governments of other countries or if the Ministry of Public Security or the Ministry of Foreign Affairs provides otherwise.
Chinese citizens who enter or exit the country as seafarers or work on foreign ships must apply for a seafarer's certificate in accordance with the law.
