What unforgettable experiences have you had during your travels?

I have been thinking about going to Tibet for a long time, but because I was young and in poor health at that time, this dream was delayed for a long time before it came true. In 2015, the time was ripe. Because the college entrance examination was just over at that time, I had plenty of time to exercise, and my father’s friend also started a business in Tibet, so the right time, place, and people were all in place. I prepared for a long time before going and forced myself to do four hours of aerobic exercise every day. For me, who is lazy, that was already my limit.

After a day and night of train journey from Beijing, we finally arrived at the land that I have longed for. The sky there was as blue as a gem without any impurities. I was deeply shocked by this. Nature is indeed a miraculous workmanship. The most miraculous creator actually gave us such a clean place. Many people may say that Tibet is very chaotic and the people there are cruel and rude. But despite this, we cannot deny that the land of Tibet is clean. It has never experienced the pollution of factory smoke, and there are not many traces of modernization. It has always been in a very primitive state.

The Potala Palace is one of the reasons why I yearn for Tibet. I envy Princess Wencheng’s love. A foreign princess came to this strange land and started her life. Her beloved man also built a palace for her. What a happy thing it was. We then went to the Princess Wencheng Live Theater, and I was deeply shocked after seeing it. The snow-capped mountains, grasslands and trees there were fully restored in the play of light and shadow, and the exotic costumes gave us a visual refreshment. The realistic Potala Palace is magnificent.

The people there are not as rude and barbaric as outsiders say. On the contrary, they are very warm and hospitable. We stayed at the house of my father’s friend’s landlord. They did not shy away from us because we were from out of town. They treated us as guests from afar and treated us very warmly. Because he gave his child a self-portrait, they happily killed the sheep and gave it to us to eat. Because the cattle and sheep at home require someone to take care of them, the adults couldn't leave, so they specially asked their children to take us to play. To take care of us, who don't eat rice, they specially prepared rice for us.

They are very simple. If you give them a little gift, they will give you the best. Here, I saw devout worshipers. Their belief in Buddha is just because they are Buddhas, not to pray for prosperous business and long life. And I only hope to bless them with a good harvest. They knelt and kowtowed three times and walked towards the Potala Palace. They used the most pious method to hope that God could hear their voices.

These experiences are the most unforgettable for me, because they are something I cannot experience no matter where I travel.
