The Twin Towers in Mutouchengzi, Liaoning Province were once the temples of the Mongols. Are they still there?

Speaking of the Twin Towers Temple, many people will think of the Twin Towers Temple in Taiyuan. After today's tour, we will take you into Shuangta Temple in Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province. The twin towers of Shuangta Temple are all made of bricks, which are called South Tower and North Tower according to their positions. I don't know when the Shuangta Temple became the home temple of the Mongols. However, judging from the introduction of local place names and characters, Mongolians did live here. Today, the Twin Towers still vaguely retain their old appearance, showing the vicissitudes of time.

Shuangta Temple is located on the platform in the middle of the cliff 10 km northeast of Zhengzhangzi Village, Mutou Town, Chaoyang County, commonly known as Shuangta Mountain in Zhaosugou. The place here is called Zhaosugou, which is an out-and-out Mongolian name. The south tower and the north tower are 23 meters apart, and between the two towers under the cliff, it is like being in the world, and the world of mortals is boring. Let time stop, just like this, watch the spring scenery in the warm sun, ponder over the past of the Twin Towers and forget who you are.

The South Tower is a hollow octagonal single-eave brick tower with a height of 1 1 m. Its shape is a combination of a pavilion and a bowl. At the top of the tower is a bowl, like an inverted alms bowl, with a direction of 78 degrees and an octagonal tower body. There are coupon doors, fake doors, fake windows, and lotus bodhisattva reliefs on all sides. There are bamboo books written on the fake door. The North Tower is a dense eaves tower, a hollow octagonal three-story eaves brick tower with a height of13m. The top bowl of the tower has a coupon door on the front and a small tower and niche carved on the surface.

The road to Shuangta Temple is good, all of which are asphalt pavement. Sometimes the roadside is rocky, sometimes the flowers are blooming, sometimes the forest covers the sky, and sometimes the stream runs, so the beauty of spring is dizzying. Dozens of kilometers of roads, mountains and heavy waters, a bright future, stop-go, stop-go. About an hour later, I turned a mountain and suddenly saw two towers standing on the cliff. The Twin Towers Temple arrived.

Arriving at Shuangta Temple is like being in a fairyland on earth. The air here is particularly fresh, just like going to a big oxygen bar. I deeply inhaled this exciting gas and felt particularly clear-headed. Green grass and small trees grow tenaciously on steep rocks, making the mountains look fresh and charming. Lush trees and flowers grow under the rocks, and clusters of nameless lilac flowers and yellowish florets are particularly gorgeous in the green grass. Apart from our voices, we can only hear the murmur of the stream.

Is the road up the mountain really? Sheep intestines? This path, only about a foot wide, is blocked by waist-high bushes and grass, which shows that there are not many people going up the mountain here at ordinary times. As I walked, I squeezed through the grass and shrubs, struggled to climb up, chose a place from time to time, and recorded the charm of the Twin Towers. Fortunately, I had the skill of climbing mountains before, and I didn't feel tired climbing this slope. Shuangta Temple, two small pagodas, is very special in Chaoyang Liao Pagoda. I have been recording the characteristics of various parts of the pagoda with my camera.

The twin towers are located under a cliff hundreds of meters northwest of Shuangta Temple. They were built in the Tang and Liao dynasties and went through many dynasties. Although they have all been repaired, they all retain their original appearance. In a sense, the twin towers of Shuangta Temple are the historical relics of Jianzhou area in Zhong Xing in Liao Dynasty, and they are still Liao pagodas. Although it is called Shuangta Temple, there are pagodas before temples. Moreover, pagodas and temples are not in the same place.

On several hills around Shuangta Temple, people have discovered many ancient cities one after another. Although these mountain cities are not as obvious as Jiyaju in Yanqing, Beijing? Shan Xi? The characteristics of human habitation, but according to historical records, before the Tang Dynasty, Xi people who liked to live in the mountains did live in Muchengzi area. On the hillside not far from the south of Shuangta Temple, there is a piece called? The land of the Tatars? In the local area, there used to be a grave of a Tatar woman here.

At the corner outside the Shuangta Temple, there is a high mountain more than 500 meters above sea level. The locals call it Weiwangshan. Mitsubishi round neck and iron arrow have been found on the mountain many times. In addition, a large number of human bones were found on the north slope of Zhaoshanzui Reservoir at the foot of Wang Weishan. A large number of human bones were buried together in disorder, with heads and feet, and some heads were different, and there were no funerary objects. It should be the burial pit of the dead or the mass grave of the captured. According to this analysis, this should be an ancient battlefield, and there was a big war.

Have you ever been to Muchengzi Town? Have you ever heard of the Twin Towers in Liaoning? It can be regarded as the site of Shuangta Temple in Qing Dynasty. During the WG, the temple was basically destroyed, leaving only two ancient pagodas on the cliff. The Twin Towers Temple is built near the Twin Towers. The twin towers of Shuangta Temple are quite strange. Seen from the outside, this sculpture is exquisite, but it has been damaged in some places. Both towers are hollow towers. When the North Tower was rebuilt in Qing Dynasty, the damaged part at the top was removed and a new tower gate was built. One hour is enough for the whole journey.
