In recent years, Ningxia red tourism has developed rapidly from scratch and become a new brand of Ningxia tourism. In 2008, red tourism revenue increased by more than 79%. Liupanshan Red Army Long March Memorial Hall, Yanchi Revolutionary Martyrs Memorial Hall, and Tongxin Western Expedition Red Tourism Series Scenic Spots were selected into the National 100 Red Tourism Classics List.

With the help of Dongfeng commemorating the 70th anniversary of the victory of the Red Army's Long March, Ningxia's red tourism has grown from scratch. Among them, Liupanshan Red Army Long March Memorial Hall invested more than 40 million yuan, Yanchi Revolutionary Martyrs Memorial Hall invested more than 20 million yuan, and Tongxin Western Expedition Memorial Park invested150,000 yuan. These three scenic spots have received more than 600,000 people since their opening.

Zhang Jinfeng, manager of Ningxia Transportation Travel Agency, said that in the past, Ningxia's tourism has always been dominated by brands such as "sealing the south of the Yangtze River", "the ancient capital of Xixia" and "homecoming customs". The emergence of red tourism has added a new brand to Ningxia tourism. Travel agencies began to operate red tourism business, especially the Red Army Long March Memorial Hall in Liupanshan, which attracted many tourists.

Li Yuli, deputy director of Wenguang Bureau of Yanchi County, Ningxia, introduced that it is recommended to travel abroad. After the completion of the Yanchi Revolutionary Martyrs Memorial Hall, it received 50,000 tourists this year alone. Red tourism has become one of the main tourism brands in Yanchi County.

At present, there are some problems in red tourism in Ningxia, such as single scenic spot structure and low comprehensive tourism income. Industry insiders suggest that we should speed up the construction of infrastructure and service functions in scenic spots, fully tap and develop tourism products, and form a large-scale tourism pattern with Liupanshan regional and ethnic characteristics as soon as possible.
