Jishishan County belongs to Linxia Hui Autonomous Prefecture in Gansu Province.

Jishishan County is the full name of Jishishan Baoan Dongxiang Salar Autonomous County, 196 1 years ago. When Linxia County was restored, Jishishan County was under the jurisdiction of Linxia Hui Autonomous Prefecture in Gansu Province. Jishishan County is the only multi-ethnic autonomous county in Gansu Province. Located in the southwest of Gansu Province, at the foot of Xiaoji Mountain in the northwest corner of Linxia Prefecture, it borders Linxia County in the southeast, Xunhua Salar Autonomous County in Qinghai Province in the west, and Minhe County in Qinghai Province across the river in the north.
