Recommended tourist attractions in Kunming 10. Mingfeng Mountain Golden Palace Scenic Area
The Golden Palace of Taihe Palace, also known as Tongwa Temple, is located in Mingfeng Mountain in the northeastern suburbs of Kunming City. Parrot Mountain. Mingfeng Mountain was originally named Xiangdu Mountain. After the Golden Palace of Taihe Palace was built during the Wanli Period of the Ming Dynasty, it was renamed Mingfeng Mountain. During the Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty, the Bronze Hall of Taihe Palace in Mingfeng Mountain was rebuilt, with "more than 5 million copper coins" (250 tons). In 1980, when cleaning the smoke and dirt from the Bronze Palace, I found an inscription on the main beam of the Bronze Palace that was completely covered with soot. The words in the middle of the beam were covered by the caisson. I climbed up to see the inscription: "The tenth year of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty, the tenth year of Xinhai, and the month of Dalu." On the 6th day of the month, Prince Wu Sangui of Pingxi built it." The inscription confirms that in the ninth year of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty (1670), Wu Sangui renovated the Taihe Palace, rebuilt the Zhenwu Bronze Hall, cast bronze statues, and erected "bronze flags and poles of more than ten feet, and the pavilions are unique." It was completed on October 16, the tenth year of Kangxi (1671). Because Wu Sangui raised troops to rebel against the Qing Dynasty in the twelfth year of Kangxi's reign (1673), the local chronicles only stated that it was "recast in the ninth year of Kangxi's reign in the Qing Dynasty", avoiding the fact that Wu Sangui rebuilt the Bronze Hall. After Wu Sangui rebuilt the Zhenwu Bronze Hall, he cast a "Seven-Star Sword" and hung it in the Bronze Hall. This is the Zhenwu "sword of wisdom hanging high, often subduing demons and controlling monsters" recorded in the inscription.
